Women and Social justice
"Empowerment of women leads to development of a good family, good society and ultimately a good nation"
-A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
Women are the backbone of a family as well as a society.
A society is nothing but a number of people joined by mutual consent to deliberate , determine and act towards a common goal. Main element of a society is people. We may consider the family as a nuclear unit of society, where family means a group of one or more parents and their children living together as a unit.
In broad sense, family is classified by patriarchal and matriarchal. In patriarchal society, 'Father' is the supreme authority of a family and vice versa in matriarchal family.
In an ideal family, distribution of works 24×7 clockwise is shared by the family members, where man and woman work together. It is very unfortunate to say that in most of cases, we are not in a position to recognise women's works and responsibilities and needs to be enforced by law!
Injustice to a woman is prevailed due to ignorance, unjustified believe of traditional path, inability and also inferiority complex in mind.
A lot of eye opening incidents in our surroundings prove that injustice, ignorance to a woman is also a burning issue. Like-In education, job places, dowry, polygamy etc. Not having so much schools and Government system reservations for women prove the gender inequality. But many opposite scenario also visible—
i)Many families have only a baby girl child.
ii)In India, the literary rate of women are increasing in trend.
iii)A great number of women are honoured with prestigious ranks.
Equal footing is a right, right in humanity. Thoughts, ideas, ethos should be translated into action in- education, sharing of responsibilities, values of life, discard biasness target oriented journey for happiness and prosperity in a family which leads to a healthy, wealthy and wise society.
A bird can't fly without two wings. A society is like a bird and itss one wing is man, other is woman.
