We, The Humans!!

There are quite a few professions that don’t differentiate between service (Self Vs Social), like those of a Doctor’s, NGO Professionals’ and a lot more. They serve for their self-sufficiency and do not have to go the extra mile to get a satisfaction that they have played some part in improving some one else’s lifestyle. Service has a portion of hidden selfishness and this realization seeps in after the long run.

Somewhere around the beginning of the month, a celebration pops up. Yes, Payday!! Unlike professionals or businessmen whose work hasn’t been disrupted on account of the Lock down or at the bare minimum who have no worries regarding the next month’s expenses, there are others who do not have a clue on how they would survive the month starting from rent, food, EB, EMI bills and so on.

This pandemic has taught us something that moral science should have taught us during our school days. Every working individual demands equal respect. No job is menial! We did not know how tough it was to do the dishes, serve meals thrice a day, cater to others’ needs and go ahead with accomplishing our career, until the time when we could not seek help from our maids, cooks, restaurants and so on. We are so dependent, yet we have an outlook as if they need us.

Karma shall act! And for people who go beyond and question the existence of a superior force, they might hold a belief in the Laws of attraction. What you give, grows back exponentially!! We, whose bank balance is not below the minimum and are sure that our deposits can save us for three more months, shall extend a helping hand, realizing everybody’s needs at the moment.

Money does matter! What might go wrong in giving away the month’s pay to people, who have always been there to ease our living? Yes, they did not have to work from home like us, but have we always paid them enough considering how much of our work is actually shared by them on a daily basis. There can be none to argue against labour being cheap in our country.

We need our people healthy and happy. Just like service, let us also have our selfish notion on the table, yet pay them first. Now is the time when we can pose as professionals who do not differentiate service. To whomsoever we owe money, the beginning of every month, let us make sure we play our part in saving their survival through the crisis. Time to prove our humanity, give up greed and not question the justified right against the wrong!!
