Unsatisfied Soul

Once upon a time, in a small city of Ramanpur, lived a 17-year-old girl, Puja.

She was a cheerful girl. She might have had many dreams. To paint, dance, study, become an IAS officer, or simply to find the man of her dreams. Her only flaw was that she had faith in Humanity. She trusted the men of our society who she was taught as a child bore a responsibility to protect women. 

One day a very wealthy and influential man promised her employment. She saw him as a knight in shining armor. Someone who will protect her from evil. She boarded a train and left with him. On the way towards a good life, the person who was bestowed with the responsibility of protecting her honor, stole it. 

Not once, twice, or thrice but countless times raped her. He was then joined by his friends and relatives who treated her as an adult toy. She shouted, begged, and cried but those men were hungry and were slaves of their biological needs. Finally, they were done. They left her and warned to keep mum. They justified that this happens with every girl and she must cooperate.

This is true, this happens with every girl. But she was not 'every girl.' She refused to comply. She decided to fight back. Once again she trusted the law of her country. Once again she was backstabbed. Her culprits roamed freely while she would lie in a dark room like an unwanted piece of meat. One day, she decided to see her rapists learning a lesson. The road was long and difficult. People warned her, consoled her, and begged her to stay quiet. We will leave this place and run away, her family obliged.

No! Today it's me, tomorrow it will be someone else. She became determined. They killed her father, she survived. On the road to justice, she was crushed by a truck, she survived. Every day a new scar and then finally God could not keep her afar. Once again on the road to justice, she was chased, captured, and burnt alive. 

She didn't want to die, with 90 percent burns on her body, she ran for life. 

Alone and helpless, she called for an emergency. A few minutes later, an ambulance came and took her to the hospital. Even now she wasn't ready to give up. However, one night God said I can't see you suffer anymore child. Come with me. She was still not ready, she argued with the all mighty and battled for life. At last, God couldn't take it and took her along forcefully. She finally succumbed to her wounds and died. 'I want to see them hanged,' were her final words. No! Her soul is not at peace. She still longs for justice
