U Turn

The first night was a disastrous one for Mr Ramesh as he had dreamt it otherwise. He thought of giving it some time to Rathna as he felt she was feeling anxious about getting adjusted to the new home and other things. He just kept numb, but never stopped trying to get close to Rathna who used to always run away from him. Ramesh tried his best for the first month, he tried calling her, talk to her, but all in vain. He thought of talking to her parents, but then he felt it would be troublesome for them to know that their daughter still did not get adjusted even after a month.

He made up his mind and decided that somehow or the other, he would try to talk to her. He was waiting for that night and forcefully grabbed her hand, though she tried to escape, he held it so tightly this time that she couldn't free herself from his clutches. He tried to pacify her and talk to her, but Rathna bit on his palm and ran towards the bathroom and locked it up. Ramesh was helpless. He couldn't even make her open the door as his tapping of the bathroom door fell on her dumb ears.

The next day morning, much to Rathna's surprise, Ramesh had packed all her stuff and dropped her to her mom's place. Before leaving, he spoke to his mother in law who started crying and told him that she had forced Rathna to marry him against her wishes as she was in love with somebody. Ramesh told her that had she told him about this before marriage, she could have saved three families from suffering. Rathna's parents forced Ramesh to stay a little more time so that they could talk to Rathna about it.

Rathna's parents forced her to adjust with Ramesh and go back to her in law's place. Rathna was scared now. She knew that he would take her back but Ramesh, the gentleman that he was, called out for Rathna and told her that she was free now from all the hurdles that she was facing and that she could go back to her boyfriend, but then she had to wait for the divorce.

Rathna's parents were shocked to hear this and started scolding Rathna. Rathna felt happy to hear this from Ramesh who was about to leave. Before that, he turned back and told her to call her boyfriend and tell him that she's ready to marry him now that she's broken all her ties from her in-law's house. She felt so happy that she thanked Ramesh immensely for that and took her mobile. Her parents were silent spectators. Rathna dialled her boyfriend's number, she was so excited about it, but he wouldn't pick. She tried one more time, and this time, she heard his voice. She was about to go inside her room, Ramesh stopped her and put her phone on speaker so that everyone could hear their conversation. Rathna told him that she had left her in law's house just to get married to him. On hearing this, her boyfriend screamed at her and told her that he cannot marry her now that she's already spent a month with her husband and cut her call. Rathna tried to call him again, but he had switched it off. 

Rathna's parents were in a dilemma now, they just rushed to touch Ramesh's feet pleading him to take their daughter back home. They tried to make Rathna understand the situation who was crying uncontrollably. Rathna didn't know what to do. All her dreams were shattered by her boyfriend whom she believed in the most. She had to abide by what her parents told her now. She folded her hands and stood in front of Ramesh. She was sure that he would accept her back. Ramesh, in turn, folded his hands and told Rathna to take some time and think about her decision as he didn't want his parents to suffer because of this anymore. He told Rathna that she wouldn't be happy if she agrees to come back to him just because her parents were forcing her to. He told her to call him after she makes up her mind and left their house.

On his way back home, he got a call from Rathna's parents and he had to rush back immediately to their house. Ramesh had to make a U-turn before crossing the signal. As soon as he reached their home, he saw Rathna holding the Aarti plate to welcome him. He was relieved to see that. Rathna put a tilak on his forehead and held her ears apologetically. Ramesh nodded his head in agreement with that and held his ears too!

Rathna couldn't thank her stars enough as she herself could see the difference between her boyfriend who wouldn't accept her just because she had spent a month with her husband, and Ramesh, like a true gentleman, had accepted her as she was despite her relationship with her boyfriend. Her thoughts came to a halt when Ramesh asked her permission to hold her hands. Within no time, Rathna was in his arms.
