Troublesome

Based on real incidents that even taught few valuable lessons to the troubled person

.      .                 Shipra a young lady who was well educated and very hard working was facing a very serious trouble for the past few days. Let us see what they are and how she managed to wade off these troubles.                            

  Good morning Shipra called her colleague and neighbour Vinita early in the morning. Shall we go to the gym?asked Vinita to Shipra. Shipra said No Vinita not today, you carry on. Let us meet in the Office. Vinita said Ok still wondering as to what the reason was She noticed Shipra being lost in thoughts most of the time. She seemed to be bothered about something. But, having known her for a long long time she understood that Shipra would not reveal anything until very necessary. Okay bye said Vinita and left to the Office on time. Even though both of them were working for the same Office their places of work were different and their superiors too were different. I mean the bosses Shipra's Office was on the Second floor while Vinita's was on the fourth floor of the same building. So far everything was going on smoothly.

Shipra was already into the tenth year of service She was financially comfortable and happy. But things were to change and she would be in trouble shortly which she never expected. The Office appointed a New consultant who was an elderly, retired, Government employee. He was highly qualified and experienced. He would guide all the juniors and get the work done on time All the employees were looking forward for this gentleman. No So called Gentleman (sic) !! . One fine day there he was . After all formalities each employee introduced themselves and when it was Shipra's turn she too spoke about herself and her thoughts. The Consultant seemed to be impressed with everyone but Shipra felt he was a little bit more impressed by her. She felt happy because she was working very hard and off late she was doing extra work of another colleague who was on a maternity leave. The work load was so heavy but not for Shipra who was a workholic. She noticed her New Boss that is the Consultant looking at her with admiration which she felt was for the hard work she was doing. This continued for few weeks.

After about a month she felt her Boss was calling her to the Cabin very frequently and was talking about matters other than work. He was asking her to have lunch with him in the cabin, he was enquiring her about her hobbies, favourite dishes and so on. Shipra felt a little bit strange but rubbed it aside as she felt he was trying to get comfortable in the new work place with her support. She got busy with work. The next week her Boss called her into the cabin and asked her if she could come along with him for Lunch. Shipra felt very uncomfortable but chided him gently saying she had food allergy and so avoided outside eating and preferred only home made food ( it was not so) .

He then offered that they will have Coffee together etc. and these suggestions continued.  For each suggestion Shipra had a counter volley and by now her Boss got the message that she was trying to avoid him. From then his behaviour towards her became different. He tried to get close during meetings sometimes even trying to touch her hands, appreciating her dress sense etc Not to say how irritated Shipra was sensing his intentions. After a few days of this ordeal Shipra was on leave due to fever. Now this was the last straw. Her Boss kept calling her on phone enquiring about her address as he somehow got to know that she was staying al one. When she showed dis interest in what he said he banged the phone showing his unhappiness. Shipra ignored it and got back to the Office after a week only to realise how troublesome the Boss would become in her matter.

He would unnecessarily point out mistakes that were not done at all. He would ask her to do pending work of others. He would ask her to stay back after Office hours under the pretext of Official meetings so on and so forth. When the situation became unbearable Shipra confided her ordeal to Vinita who was a saviour to her now. Vinita advised her to do something that was the game changer. In the coming week Shipra very quietly narrated her entire troubles at the hand of the New boss I mean the Senior executive . Luckily for her Immediate Boss was a decent and elderly man .

He understood what she narrated and very quickly cancelled his extension as the Consultant in the Office that was due for the upcoming week. On hearing this news the consultant was fuming and burning with anger without knowing the real reason behind this. Shipra definitely has a doubt that he might have guessed the reason for his termination. She chose a way that did not need much noise to be made about how she was tormented at work place by a man , , no me too pleas etc. But she got the required result that was a relief to her and may be to someone like her in the same place who did not dare to do something like her. The trouble maker bid good bye to the Office and Shipra prays to God that he will no longer create any trouble to anyone anywhere any more.
