The Temple of Character

Far, far away there is a land called Fairy Land. There are no humans or animals in fairy land. It has only fairies and magical creatures. The fairy land is ruled by the ‘Fairy Queen.’

One day the fairy queen thought to build a huge and tall temple. She asked her fairy friends to help her build the temple with precious stones. The fairies were so excited and accepted to help. For many days all the little fairies collected as much precious stones as they can. Finally, they all gave their collection to the queen.

The Rosebud fairy said, “Dear queen I have brought the most beautiful red rubies for the walls.”

The Snowflake fairy said, “I have brought the glittering diamonds for the floor.”

The buttercup fairy said, “My queen, I have loads and loads of emeralds for the roof.”

The moondust fairy said, “Let us decorate the temple with the precious sapphire stones.”

The queen was very happy. She built the most stunning temple with all the precious stones that her fairies had brought. It was so wonderful to look at. The fairies looked at the temple and said,

“It is quite the loveliest thing in the world. We are sure. Nobody ever has the power to create something more beautiful than this.”

Hearing this the queen said, “That is not quite right my dear fairies. The mortals have the power to build a temple more beautiful than this.”

“Who are these mortals?” asked buttercup.

“They are the small girls and boys of planet Earth,” replied the queen.

“Wow, can you tell us more, dear queen?” said Snowflake fairy.

 “The most beautiful temple that these boys and girls have the power to build is called the ‘Temple of Character’. The stones that they use to build that temple is far more precious than ours. I will tell you the names of them. First is Truth. Just like diamonds it the most precious and strongest. No good character can be made without Truth. Then there are Kindness, Loyalty, Honesty and gratitude. There are many more stones and these are just a few. The Temple of Character is the strongest in the whole universe.”

The little fairies were very glad to hear all about the Temple of Character. And they all said they will help all girls and boys to make their Temple beautiful.

So, my friends, remember, each and every one of us must build a Temple as we grow, and the name of that Temple is Character.
