Once upon a time there was a village, infamous for its laziness and lack of punctuality.

Ramesh was appointed the new headman of the village. The village was inefficient and its villagers were poor.

Ramesh called upon a meeting of all the ward members, but again, they all came late and officer from the city got angry and cut down all the funding of the village.

Ramesh was furious, but he decided to solve this problem for once and all.Apparently he found that all the villagers were not punctual because they woke up late in the morning and the day was always running ahead of them.

He appointed a new watchman and his duty was to wake every villager early in the morning. The new watchman was doing his duty efficiently and the results were evident in a few months. Villagers changed their habits and the officer from the city forgave them

The village flourished with prosperity and the villagers became rich and happy.

The watchman became the most important person of their village. Gradually, he considered himself “the messiah of the village” in a way, he was but now, he started boosting it. He started expecting the royal treatment from the villagers and started peddling the theory that the prosperity of the village was because of him only.

One day, to prove his theory, he decided not to wake up the villagers, but most of the villagers woke up by themselves and they woke up remaining villagers too.

Now, It started happening regularly and villagers now stopped trusting him and started waking up by themselves.

Ramesh thought this a great opportunity, removed the watchman and restored his might. Now, he was the sole crusader of the villagers and the right one too.

The watchman with the long face left the village.

Moral of the story:

1. One should be punctual to one’s duty.

2. One should not think oneself as the center of the universe. The world always finds a way of succeeding with you or without you.

3. Our body always forms a habit. Whether it is good or bad, the choice is ours.
