The Poor Swan
The Poor Swan
In a dense forest there was a beautiful lake. The lake was adorned with colorful flowers. In the lake there lived a swan. One day an owl came there, he liked the ambience around the lake and started living there. Soon the swan and the owl became good friends. After few days the owl started missing his home and went back, but he invited his friend, the swan to visit his nest which was on a tree near the river. After the owl left, the swan felt lonely and went to see his friend. He reached there in the daytime and hence the Owl could not see him, so he suggested that the swan to stay back till the night falls. The swan was also very tired after a long journey so he went off to sleep in the owl's nest. After some time a hunter came to the river to drink water and saw the sleeping swan. He immediately aimed his arrow at the swan and killed him, seeing this the owl charged at the hunter and poked his eye with his beak. The hunter ran for his life. The owl felt very bad for the poor swan.
