"Am I a human?"...

Someone told me that mirrors are like a different dimension: a bad one. It is my reflection that protects me from crossing onto the other side. I probably never looked at mirrors so the words of my friend had very little significance. Looking onto the other side never impressed me. Years of ghost stories and little myths always unsettled me.

" Where is my reflection?". It was accidental, that I stood in front of my vanity mirror. I couldn't believe what I just saw. There was this silhouette as hollow as avoid. The darkness opposite me was blinding me and I felt as light as air. The silence was interrupted by the cheer of the audience. I felt myself in a distant land with people conversing in a language I wouldn't understand.

The music was too loud and jarring to hear anything but my ears picked up certain lines. I heard someone say...

" No humans were invited for this party".

I shrugged it off blaming the scotch I had. The place was decorated with all those fancy things. There few people in clusters sitting outside or dancing or talking with each other. The place was hot and clumsy. My eyes searched for Josh as I felt unpleasant with the place.

I found Josh near the washroom having an argument with a few of his friends. Their reactions changed as I approached him. He shoved a champagne glass with a pink concoction into my hands. He asked me to have a drink of that wine. The drink tasted sour and it had a nauseating effect as it went down the throat. I heard Josh exclaiming to his friends," I told you right he is not a human". They chuckled together as I left the place.

The effect of the concoction was overwhelming. The neon lights in the room made me perspire and my heart started to palpitate badly. I decided to meet Josh privately. I went to his Villa in Riverside. I knocked on the door and waited patiently. Josh came out and asked me," What can I do for you?". As we walked inside, I asked him," I heard you say no humans were invited for the party. What does it mean?". In an undertone, he said," If you believe we are humans you are wrong".

I began to feel dizzy as the words made their way into my ears.
