The mermaid

  Stories of angels. demons. aliens and mermaids have always been so interesting and mystical. The more we dwell into these topics the more interesting and alluring they become. Most of these elements can be found mentioned in ancient folk-lore and sayings. In Folklore a mermaid is an aquatic creature with the head and upper part of the body of a female human and the tail that of a fish. Mermaids appear in the folklore of many cultures worldwide including Europe. Africa and Asia. A mermaid is a mythical sea-dwelling creature often described as having the head and body of a woman and a fish's body below the waist. The different stories and poems that are spoken about these mystical elements has always been a matter of interest to human beings since ages and the mystery continues. Come let us read a lovely story about the love between a Simpleton and a mermaid. isn't it      Rishi called his warden? Rishi a young man in his early twenties was an orphan who has been living in the Orphanage since the time he was born. The orphanage took care of him. who was left at the doorstep by some unknown persons. Rishi even as a young child was chirpy. happy and always on the go. He was very punctual with work and was well-mannered for his age and background. No. this is not to mean that orphans are badly behaved nor it is to degrade anyone. It is to say that even without parental guidance for obvious reasons. he was well mannered and sincere. Most of the time he used to run errands and attend to any work that was of some help to someone. As a young man he joined a ladies emporium that sold perfumes and other toiletries. And the place we are talking about is the hill station called Nilgiris or Ooty which is more popular. The place as we all know is a hill station with a lot of visitors coming especially during Summer and during other seasons too the place was frequented by visitors mostly newly married couples on their honeymoon trips. or people who would come to shoot ad films or other Tollywood or Bollywood movies as well. The meaning is to say that the place was always witnessing an influx of visitors who gave good business opportunities to shopkeepers whether they were textile shops. baggages and luggage or handicrafts etc. the list goes on. Rishi was happy attending to customers as was his habit and he was earning so additional benefits. Life was pulling on.          

   One morning during the spring season. Rishi got ready and as usual, started walking to his workplace. Spring season as we all know is the best season because the weather remains pleasant and after the cold and in places very cold winter season. spring season gets a big welcome. It makes the climate happy and everywhere we find new saplings. fresh twigs. blooming flowers 🌹 that make the weather even more pleasant and bouncing. Birds of different kinds spread their melodious tunes making the climate even more interesting. Rishi who was lost in the beauty of nature started crooning to his favourite song 'suhana Safar aur ye mausam hasin' sung by the great singer Mukesh of yester years. As he was walking he looked afar and noticed something very special. He happened to notice a young lady sitting on a small rock on a little height and she had crawled herself as if she was weeping. Now. as his nature was Rishi could not stop himself from going near her and offering any help she needed. As he started to walk near her he got the fragrance of some extraordinary scent that was mesmerizing. The young lady was so beautiful that Rishi had no words to explain. The closer he went to her. she crawled a bit more. Rishi was awestruck with the young lady's beauty which was not commonly seen. She looked like a fairy who had landed on earth by mistake. Once he reached very close to her. he noticed the clothes that she had worn were a bit strange. The upper part of her dress had covered her neck. arms etc. While the lower part of her body was covered with something that seemed like leather or fur. For a minute he thought he would focus on what problem the young lady faced. He went near her and asked her why she was crying and where had she come from. The lady replied that she was dumb and could not speak but she explained that she had come from a very far-off place and directed her finger towards the sky.

Rishi was even more confused But being Rishi he decided to help her with all his might. The lady explained that she had lost a very valuable finger ring that was like a torch that can take her to the place where her family lived and then she started to weep again. Rishi somehow consoled the lady and promised her that he would get back her finger ring and she would travel to her place however far it may be. The girls eyes lit up on hearing those words. Rishi added that he will come back after a few hours as he did his job work. The girl asked him to continue with his work and said she would wait there itself as the weather was perfect and the place too was good with green grass spread over and fragrance of flowers etc. As Rishi could not help her out at that moment he continued to his work place which was quite nearby from where he stood at that moment.       He hurriedly reached the stores and finished his work at the earliest for the day and as the customers flow reduced for the day he requested permission to go to his hostel early for that day. After getting the permission he again hurriedly walked back to the same spot where he had seen the young lady who looked like a fairy. As he reached the place he was shocked as the lady was not found there. He walked into the garden nearby looking for the lady to find her crouched on the grass. Now. this was going to be a big shock which he did not expect. The girl's lower part of the body was that of a fish. Rishi was shocked and scared to go near her. But. the beautiful smile of the beautiful lady in question was like an assurance as if saying that I am of no harm to you. Rishi hurriedly walked upto her and asked her what the real story is all I. Sign language only What the lady narrated was even more interesting and a bit shocking as well. The lady narrated her entire story of who she was. from where she had come and what had happened with her precious finger ring without which she could not go back to her place of living which was not on earth but beneath earth that is the ocean bed. Rishi understood that she was a mermaid who landed on earth by mistake and how she got stuck here due to the cunning plan of a fraudster who took her precious finger ring from her making her bound and grounded. Now. what Rishi does to get her ring back and how the mermaid will go back into the Ocean which is her home is a big question.
