The entire class stood up to greet the new Arts Teachers.
He was medium built with a dark moustache and a beard.
The students of class six were happy yet anxious to talk about their hobbies in front of the whole class. Some of them felt genuinely scared of the serious looking teacher, but when he smiled and asked the students to share their hobbies with everyone, they all smiled at once and welcomed him with open hearts!
That day, little Khushi was totally silent when the teacher asked her to share about her hobbies, with the class. She just stood up and remained quite. The teacher was sensitive to realize that it was her shyness perhapes, that was the stumbling block in little Khushi not disclosing about her hobbies to the class.
But he made up his mind to know about the sweet little girl's hobby in one class for sure!
The days passed and all the students of class six started looking forward to their arts classes. The arts teacher was liberal in his dealings with the students, and treated them all with great love and care.
The students enjoyed painting with the multitudinous colors provided by the arts teacher. The teacher would take them to the school garden and tell them to sketch and paint anything that they wanted to capture in their canvases.
One day, the teacher took them all to the top of the "Sundari Jal" mountain to show the kids the majestic waterfall of Sundari Jal! The kids went mad with joy. Needless to say they had an 'unforgettable trip' and some 'amazing paintings' to share with the other students in their school.
As the day went by Khushi also started to come out of her sell and interacting with everyone. On the annual day of their school, when all parents were attending, the teacher once again asked his students to speak about their hobbies infront of the entire gathering.
Speaking about their hobbies, the students shared the anecdotes about their trips to the garden and Sundari Jal Mountains. They laughed and had a great time sharing their hobbies. Some of them were in love with painting and sketching while some of themwere mad about playing football. Some students loved spending time voraciously reading books while some of the others loved dancing and singing!
Finally when little Khushi went up on the stage, everybody waited with bated breath! Everyone wanted to hear about her hobby. But she again remained silent.
The principal teachers and all the students looked at her anciously. They were really anxious to know, what that hobby was, that little Khushi loved to do in her spare time.
So everyone kept looking at her and kept waiting for her to finally speak up! That is when Khushi's mother came up on stage and stood next to her daughter. Smiling at her daughter, she tenderly asked Khushi to tell everyone about her hobby.
There was a deafening silence!
And then finally mustering courage, little Khushi slowly told everyone, "My hobby is to teach Gaurav and Rashmi the two children of Rajnididi who works in our house! She cannot send them to a good school like our school! And so everyday,I teach them for one hour in the evening during my free time!"
