THE CAVE

THE CAVE

Aaron was a unruly boy infamous for littering any vicinity he stepped into. No one was really enthusiastic to be his pal, even if someone did was a short lived friendship. He threw all the chocolate wrappers, juice cans, even the broken toys exactly in the place he was not supposed to. One day, tired of his behavior, his parents punished him to clean every nook and corner of their backyard spick and span. But instead of cleaning it Aaron started hitting the plants and digging the lawn.

Soon, he heard a screeching loud “NO” and yet he continued his notorious act. The green lawn suddenly turned into a squishy land. He toppled over the waves of the squishy land and before he could cry out for help he was sucked into a brown scaly tunnel and landed into an ancient cave. He looked around and pinched himself to check if it’s real, he yelled “Ahhhhhhhh, help meeeeeeee, I want to go home”

“Quiet! You noisy kid” said a voice

“A…ummm…who….are…you” asked Aaron

“I am the cave”

“Errrr…..why are you doing this to me”

“I received a book full of complaints about your misconducts, you have been a really naughty child” said the cave

“What did I do”

“Polluting everywhere you go, you don’t even leave a single corner, look at the heap of trash you have created”

“Everyone does that, why captivate me alone”

“Haha, look to your right, you see those reptiles there, they were once people like you, I gave them multiple chances to improve but the never did, so I turned them into those reptiles. Now you tell me what do you want to be? A better person or a reptile in the dungeon?”

“Obviously a better person”

“Sounds perfect!! So now make a list of things that you will not do to repeat this mistake again.”

The cave made him write it so many times until it was ingrained in every part of his body! He taught Aaron the importance of taking responsibility of his surrounding and be watchful of his actions.

Then the cave released Aaron into his backyard advising him to clean his backyard before he gets inside his house.

MORAL: We should never take things for granted because every action we do has its own impact on others as well as our selves in unseeing ways.
