The Birth of Krishna: A Divine Tale

In ancient Mathura, where legends thrive,

A celestial drama began to come alive.

Devaki, fair and gentle, held a secret within,

A child divine, destined to free the world from sin.

Her husband, Vasudeva, stood by her side,

As the prophecy unfolded, far and wide.

Kamsa, the wicked king, feared this child's birth,

For it was foretold that he'd bring an end to his mirth.

On a stormy night, in the prison's dark cell,

Devaki gave birth, and all seemed well.

But the heavens rejoiced, and the rain poured down,

As Krishna emerged, a jewel in Mathura's crown.

Vasudeva, overwhelmed by love and fear,

Held his newborn son, his heart sincere.

The river Yamuna roared, swollen and wild,

Blocking their path to safety, like a tempest beguiled.

Yet, a miracle unfolded, as if by divine grace,

A giant serpent appeared, with majestic embrace.

Its hood formed an umbrella, shielding the child,

As Vasudeva stepped forth, the storm running wild.

Across the raging river, he waded with care,

Balancing Krishna on his head, a burden rare.

The snake followed faithfully, its scales glistening,

Guiding them through the tempest, a celestial blessing.

And so, Lord Krishna crossed the Jamuna's tide,

His birth a cosmic event, forever glorified.

The snake, a guardian, sheltered them from harm,

As the universe witnessed the birth of its charm.
