The Betrayal
The Betrayal
The purple dark lines on the sky are getting darker and the congested perplexed mind descends along with it. It has been hard to compel the flowing of gushed and mixed feelings that were surmounting his mind. A feeling that had become a regression in his life. It is when he met the lady whom he had betrayed for lust and alluring opportunities for higher lifestyle that he now understood what was like betraying a powerful and amazingly optimistic lady...It was a few months ago when he met the CEO Mrs pushpita Kumar Raval in a reputed MNC company.
********Few years ago*********
"Pushpa, re Pushpa, where are you??? Where have you gone to??? Come to the kitchen as fast as possible, your father wants breakfast, come and help me" shouted a woman of 48 to her daughter who was at the terrace busy chatting with her neighbour friend Rani. "Rani, Amma is calling me downstairs, I have to go now, but will meet in the evening over here only ok." Said Pushpa haphazardly.
"Ok Akka, I will meet here only and you will tell me the rest of the story, bye " replies Rani and leaves. Pushpita (Pushpa) is the younger daughter of Adya Kumar and Vaani Kumar. They belong to the traditional family and are also well educated. Adya Kumar is a very well established entrepreneur residing in a popular city in Bangalore and Vaani Kumar is a psychological professor in a renowned college. Vaani wants her children to get highly educated and establish in their lives. Their elder daughter is in college, who is 3yrs elder to Pushpa and her name is Tejshri. Pushpa is a shy girl and loves to be indoors helping her mother in household works.
Later in the afternoon, Pushpa enters her mother and finds her putting covers on pillows.. " come, my dear, help me put these covers on," says her mother. " Amma, I want to ask you something," said Pushpa. "Yes, tell me Amma, what's the matter?" Replied Vaani. " How do you manage both home and outside, Amma, I always see you smiling and stress free all the time, how do you do that?? Asked Pushpa eloquently. Her mother smiled and looked at her with a proud feeling as if she was thinking about something and said " my dear, if you have that passion to do something in life, something that will make you happy and peaceful from within you can manage every other task.
But the purpose of living should be for yourself, for your own interests not for others. " Pushpa listened to her mother carefully and was quiet for a while. Then again she asked, " Amma you are a professor, you wanted to be one, but then why do you take care of us?? You only said na, live for yourself not for others' ' replied Pushpa. Her mother laughed at her childish behaviour and innocent query but then she replied " yes, of course I said that but it is for you to understand and know that family comes first than an outsider. You can't believe or rely on an outsider except for yourself. But you can rely on your family so of course a family comes first place." These lines were pinned inside her head and she could literally feel the depth of each and every word that her mother had told her.
A few weeks later, Pushpa was at her neighbours house playing ludo with her friend come sister Rani when an unexpected visitor arrived. The doorbell rings twice, Rani's mother opens the door and happens to be surprised by the arrival of her sister's son Tushar Raj Singh from Delhi. He has come to meet his cousin and Aunt and to stay here for a few weeks. "Namaste, mausiji ( aunty), how are you and mausa ji(uncle)???" Said Tushar. " Namaste beta, come in, we are all fine my son, sit, ( turning to Rani) betu, go bring sharbat for your brother." And saying this she sat near Tushar. " So my son, how is everyone at home?? How were your exams?? I know my dear, you are a very brilliant student, you will surely get the highest rank in your first year of college" said Rani's mother. " Mausiji, everything is fine, mummy and papa are all very good, in fact they will be coming soon to visit you...." Replied Tushar. As he replied, his gaze wandered towards the girl sitting on the bed in the next room. She was sitting diagonally to him and their eyes met. The beautiful innocent face melts his heart at this first sight. The girl slowly gets up from bed and gradually heads towards the door without looking at him. " Pushpa, you are going my dear??"asked aunty.
"Yes, aunty" replied Pushpa with a smile and with a one last glance at that handsome man she leaves. From that day onwards, Pushpa had become quite restless, every time she would do something but couldn't help thinking about that handsome man whose features would flash in front of her eyes. But she didn't dare to look up for him nor did she show interest in talking to him because she thought that he might not be interested in her. But then his charming face and demanding eyes were saying something else on that very first day of their sudden meeting. His beautiful enchanting gestures just filled her mind with variant thoughts. She couldn't stop herself from knowing more about him and also talking to him. So one fine day, she called her neighbour Rani just to chat with her. "Hello, aunty is Rani at home?" Asked Pushpa with rising palpitations in her heart." Yes, Pushpa, she is at home, wait let me call her. Come to our house sometimes Pushpa, it's been quite a long time since you've visited us. Ok? " Said Rani's mother. " Yes aunty, I will come" replied Pushpa shyly. Then Pushpa can hear aunty calling Rani and waits over the phone. After a while, " hello, hi Pushpa Didi, how are u doing?" Asked Rani.
" I am fine. How about you?? How is everything going on?" Queries Pushpa. " Everything is fine Didi, Tushar bhaiya helps us in our projects, and also plays indoor games along with us. He is such a fun Didi, today he promised us to fly kites in the evening. We are very excited Didi, why don't you come and join us?``said Rani. " Me ?? No no, enjoy it with your cousin, I will meet you in a few days." Replied Pushpa nervously. " Oh common Didi, there is nothing to feel awkward about as Tushar bhaiya is very friendly with everyone. " As Rani finishes her sentence, a male voice speaks up in a very low tone. But it is quite familiar to Pushpa. " See Didi, Tushar bhaiya is also inviting you, he heard me talking to you so he said "ask her to come also in the evening". Now I don't want to listen to anything, you are coming, Didi" demanded Rani. " Ok Rani, I will come by 5:30pm on your terrace. Replied Pushpa laughingly.
In evening by 5:30pm, Pushpa comes to the terrace and finds Rani and her brother extremely excited to see their kite flying in the air. Tushar was well trained on his job, his kite was swiftly moving up in the sky above the wall and also had cut two kites earlier. Pushpa was mesmerized by his excellency in flying kites. After a gap of about 15 minutes, when Tushar's kite was cut down, he took a break from it and came to Pushpa, " so, how have you been?" He said while sitting beside her on a bench. She hesitated at first to reply to him but then calmly and gradually she replied " I have been good, how about you?" " Oh, I have not been good since the day I saw you. You have taken away my sleep, your beautiful big dazzling eyes are making me crazy. I really like you a lot." He replied with a bright smile on his face. Listening to such loving words, Pushpa was quite amazed as she did not expect him to open up so easily. In fact she thought that he might have the least interest towards her. Not knowing what to reply she kept quiet. After a short pause, he says " Pushpa if you have the same interest and feelings for me as I have for you then you would come to the terrace of your building tonight by 8 pm. I'll be waiting for you. If not, you don't have to come. But remember my feelings are genuine and I would love to make you mine one day." He said these words with a hushed tone and left downstairs leaving behind her. Pushpa was stupefied sitting there like an idiot.
Later by 7:30pm, Pushpa was in her room with her heavy thoughts and Extreme heartbeat, one could hear her heartbeat around the room. She was not able to decide whether to go on the terrace or not. One way, her youth and lustful desires are knocking at the door to open it and free herself, on the other way, her fears of being betrayed and being trapped in the circle of love where she may get drowned was also consuming her. The whole time, she was walking aimlessly in her room, to and fro, that was enough to understand her restlessness and fear.
The clock struck 8, in her room and she could find herself betraying her own dignity and morals and pushing through the waves of fear and moving towards the undefined relationship that yet has to be weaved around at a time. She then, without thinking anymore, rushes to the terrace and searches for Tushar, but could not find him. Not being able to see him, she becomes sad and thinks that she must be late to give her reply. She was then about to leave, when she could hear the sound of the terrace door opening and Tushar coming in from the other side. He at once saw her and his smile grew double, " I knew you would come as I also knew that you also have feelings for me. '' Said Tushar while coming towards her. She smiled back with no words and shyly looked down. "Pushpa, believe me, I can't resist myself from thinking about you. It is quite impossible for me to stay away from you. I crave to see you at least once in a day, I think I am gonna go insane. " He says. And then there is a pause as if the air is doing its conversation. "
I can't resist myself anymore. I too think about you and yes I am also having feelings for you.'' Pushpa said with joy. Tushar then held her hands and brought them near his lips and kissed them. She blushed like anything and let him kiss her beautiful hands. Both of them then had chatted for over an hour when Pushpa's mother started calling out her name. They then promised to meet each other at the same time exactly at the same place. The whole day was absolutely different to her, a conscience of his touch and his voice haunted her for every second and the eagerness to meet him seems to be irresistible for her as the pleasures are now immensely on their peak. She cannot avoid the fact that she is attracted towards him and would do anything to be under his embrace. They meet up again at the same time and in the same place as promised.
So the connection between them was growing rapidly and more intimately. Pushpa was now moreover like a puppet who would do anything for her beloved. He has now become her everything. He would ask her to meet up at the places irrespective of any decency and virtuality. So one day, when Pushpa's mother Vaani, would leave for her college. Pushpa skips her breakfast and leaves for tuition. When coming back from tuition she says to the driver that she had to go to her friend's place and that it is near so would rather walk to the destination. And then she eventually flies to the place where she has promised Tushar to meet up. A 3 star hotel, named Dalgona with a cafeteria in the ground area, a club followed by on the first floor and then the rest three floors are the reserved rooms for the frequent customers. " Hi, I have missed you since you left. It's like forever to me. Come here my love.'' Tushar pulls her to a gentle hug. Pushpa goes inside a suite. It's not so luxurious, but quite cozy with a glass pane beside the bed. A quite fascinating sophisticated attached bathroom and a mini arched verandah. Overall a simple warm room for a regular couple like Tushar and Pushpa. "Listen na, I am tired of hiding in places like this. When will we become one and when would there be no barrier between us." Asked Pushpa feebly. "
Push, you know that we are still students and we need to at first focus on our career. Once we are settled in our jobs, we can get married then. Although you will still be mine in all these hard years, so cheer up darling. " As he finishes his words. He holds her waist and draws her closer to him. The touch was intense as if a current was passed within her body. She too encircled her hands around his neck and moved along the way she was carried away. Finally falling on the bed, Tushar embraces her face with multiple kisses, slowly and most leniently he draws his kisses down to her neck. She enjoys every bit of it and eventually begs him for more. These kisses were bringing goosebumps on her bare skin. And eventually wrapping around each other, they made love.
Tushar goes down deeper to her vital part. Slowly massaging his fingers around her casabas leaving her to moan with arising pleasure. He further goes deep down exploring every delicate part of her body embedding infinite kisses and sliding his hands to the most integral areas with the craving of more wanting desires. His gentle but demanding touch crazes her like whimsical magic spelled on her. The lust burning on his eyes with the need to engulf her, with the pleasures to collide to sweet moan that tantalises his strength to speed up his rhythm at every motion. He then holds her lower up and thrusts his phallus inside her v. The motion goes deep and then slow and finally he breaks down on the bed. Later she would cuddle up into his arms and rest her head on his shoulder. This sense of enjoyment couldn't have been explained that was assembling inside her mind. They don't speak anything for a long time. " It's almost three, you don't want to go home by now. Your mom would be coming home from college at 4:30pm right." Tushar finally speaks up with an extremely low voice. Realising the worth of his words, she gets up at once and rushes to grab her bag. Putting in every little thing that was out and then planting many kisses to each other they bid goodbye with improbable promises.
For the past four months, Pushpa had been on a date with Tushar. She was very much into this relationship as it was her first and deep one. It is said that people are crazy and are so much into their relationship that they forget everything. Pushpa was also facing the same thing. She was always on the phone either texting or on call or video call with Tushar. In short, he has occupied her mind with his thoughts and he became her small world that was nearly impossible to separate from her. It was like she met him yesterday and now they are so engrossed in each other. So things were good and positive in their life until one day when Pushpa as usual went to meet him in some random place, he was in the bathroom when his phone rang with a popped up message on the screen showing a message "hey baby, I can't wait to see you. Come soon Jaan. '' From Linda. And she was awestruck seeing such a dreadful message. Just then Tushar comes out from his bath and looking at the dreadful blank face of Pushpa he understands something is wrong. His glance then travels to her hand holding his phone. " Who is Linda ?? "She asks with teary eyes and frustrated. Tushar doesn't reply to her. After a short pause, she asks again with a broken trembling voice " why don't you answer me?".
But still no response from him so she hastily runs towards him to confront him and looking into his eyes she could see something different. He wasn't the one she had known, not a familiar gesture, he wasn't even looking at her. '' I said answer me. I want to know, who is Linda?" She shouted at him. He looked at her with rage and disgust in his face as if he was over with this relationship. " I don't know what you are talking about? And I don't like it if anyone intrudes on my phone without my permission. Understand?" He shouts back. Pushpa starts crying holding his hands which he ruthlessly pushes away and clenching his teeth he says, " I am not willing to talk to you right now. Please leave." '" no don't do this to me, please, I will listen to whatever you say. But don't leave me," Pushpa says, crying like a child. "But I am not in the mood to talk right now, so just go home, I will talk sometimes later." Saying this he grabs her elbow and pulls her to the door. " Please Tushar let me stay here under your brace. " Pushpa pleaded with teary eyes. " I said leave". He replied and closed the door behind her. She banged the door numerous times but didn't get any response, it seems that the devastating pain is forever. Tired and frustrated, she heads back to home.
Getting inside the house, she finds her mother sitting at the dining table having a cup of tea. " Hello my darling, how was your day?" Vaani asked. Pushpa who was completely heart broken couldn't reply to her mom. She was so broken that she couldn't reply to her mom. Instead she kept quiet and helplessly looked down towards the ground. After not getting any response from her child Vaani further adds to cheer her up, saying that " there's great news for you, your sister is coming home tomorrow. So let's plan a weekend and head to some hill station. What do you say?" Asked her mother eloquently.
Still no reply from her as if she is doomed forever and would never speak up again. Seeing her like this, her mother starts worrying and immediately gets up to her, " what happened to my child?? Is everything alright?" She breaks her silence crying like hell and collapses on the ground. Vaani couldn't understand what had happened, but still she chose not to ask anything, just held her in her arms and sat there for she didn't know how long. Later at night, pushpa reveals every detail to her mother including her physical relation with Tushar. Her mother listens to everything but says nothing. She only caresses her hair and keeps on muttering music in a hushed tone the whole night.
Next day, in the early morning, Tejshri comes home after a year from college hostel to spend weekends with her family. Tejashri is in engineering college doing her mechanical engineering third year and also very enthusiastic about everything. When it comes to family she is a valiant shield for every member of her sweet ménage. Tejshri was informed the other day by her mother about her little sister's problem. She was infuriated as she felt that how much the grief had caused her sister's sorrow. " Amma, where is she??how is she now??" Tejashri(chinni) asked in a hushed voice. " She is sleeping now, what can I say? She was sobbing the whole night. I couldn't see her in this chinni way." Replied Vaani in grief. "Don't worry Amma, as I am here together we will solve this problem." Assures Tejshri to her mother. After a long gap, when she finally met her sister who got up in the late afternoon, her heart dropped by seeing her in such a devastating condition. " Pushpa what's the matter?? Why are you hurting yourself for being such a ruthless man." Exclaimed Tejshri.
Pushpa just looked at her blankly as if no one was present in front of her and walked away. Vaani and her daughter were not able to decide what to do? So they decided to converse about it with Mr. Adya, Tejshri and Pushpa's father. Later at night after dinner, all the three of them talked about it over and over again and came to a conclusion that they would likely meet the boy's parents and would talk over it. The next day, Rani's mother called her sister and her family to their place. But they were not willing to come, so Vaani talked over the phone about the matter to Tushar's parents who had no idea about what was happening. Finally they agreed to come over to this place along with their only son to sort out things between the two families.
Tushar was not ready but couldn't defend himself as he knows that he is a culprit so he agreed to their idea of meeting up quietly. They reached Bangalore at Rani's home within a week. Both the families were sitting in a room for the discussion about their children's matters. After a long hours of mixed up idea and random talks they finally have come to a witty solution that the couple would get married to each other and they can continue their studies and their career after that. Everyone agreed to this decision and Pushpa was extremely happy about the fact that finally Tushar will be hers forever. Everybody was enjoying except Tushar who was not at all happy with this stupid decision and he just wanted to run away. Then a few days later, their marriage date was fixed and the shopping and arrangements for the marriage began on either side of the families.
Pushpa was happy but deep down in her heart she felt that her happiness was not going to stay forever because as she looked at Tushar's face, she could not feel any connection with him. As if he is forced to marry her, as if she is a burden being tied around his neck. She tried to talk to him but there were a complete package of members inside the house that she couldn't get a scope to meet and talk to him. She even tried to contact him by phone or by phone but he ignored her calls and messages as much as possible. Finally the day of marriage arrived, Pushpa was very excited and fortunate as she believed that her luck is in her favour and that she is happy to endeavour it. The marriage ceremony was in the evening around 6pm.
The members of both the families were present and there was a chaos in the hall room as all the members were wandering around and chit chatting all at a time. The pandit was here and all the family members were present in the pavilion but there was no sign of the groom. Pushpa wearing her heavy saree and decked in jewelry sat in the middle of the pergola waiting for the groom to arrive. The time of the marriage ritual was almost at its end. The members were calling Tushar every now and then but the phone was saying it was switched off every time. The shame and the mere embarrassment was hitting Pushpa on her face. She was no longer able to bear this insult as people in this very room started talking about her. Looking up at her parents and sister, Pushpa could feel her heart has been stabbed innumerous times.
The pain and the shame that her family was facing because of her was eating her up. It was 9pm, when there were no guests left except both the families. Tushar's parents joined their hands and felt sorry for such a disgusting act of their son, they were heartily sorry on behalf of their son. They blessed Pushpa and wished her for a better future and left. Now Pushpa, her sister and her parents were left. All the four of them hugged each other and cried like hell. This day was surely a doomsday for this family.
Months passed by, but the soreness deep inside her heart and mind was still fresh and stinky. It is as if it's impossible to eradicate those memories from her mind. Her parents and her sister have decided that it would be best for a change for her and the change would get started by the place first. But it's been almost a month that they have come to Manali but there is no sign of change in their daughter. Vaani started worrying about her as there was no sign of getting over this trauma. But then gradually, Pushpa started liking this place, she started enjoying not completely but bit by bit the authenticity in the ambience of Manali. Seeing her daughter change bit by bit made Vaani relax a bit. Adya and Tejshri were also very happy. The smile that was lost for months is now gradually forming in her lips. The forever silence is now breaking apart. Pushpa was now finally getting over the trauma that had sunk her almost to death.
One fine evening, when Pushpa was enjoying the view of the sunset sitting at the porch in the backyard. Vaani comes and joins her, both of them looking at each other and smiling. Then with the tranquility lingering around, they enjoyed the sunset together. It's almost night, when Pushpa gets up to leave and asks her mother in a low voice, " Amma are you coming in?" Her mother nodded and gestured to sit along with her. She sat quietly beside her, waiting for her mother to speak. " Pushpa my dear, I am very glad that you are quite happy today. We only wished for your happiness and good health which is quite fruitful now." Said her mother. Pushpa smiled and looked down. " I always wanted to say something to you, today is the right time, so please sit and listen to me carefully. Your father and I were good friends at our times. He used to like me a lot. One fine day, he came up to me and proposed to me for marriage." Said Vaani smiling at her daughter. " So you said yes?" Asked Pushpa slowly. " Of course not, silly girl." Replied Vaani.
Pushpa was curious now that if Amma had feelings for her Nana (father) then why did she say no to him. She asked her mother that if she had feelings for him then why would she say no. " Because I always had a dream to become something. That something is my teaching line. I wanted to learn and educate myself and grow bigger. It's not that I didn't like your dad but I told him that my limitation is not only being a housewife. But I want to be a teacher, a professor and then I will marry you." Replied Vaani delightfully. She further continued " remember Pushpa, you once asked me that if i love my job and still how do I care for my family. I replied to you that if you have passion in your life to do something, you can manage anything in life. All you have to do is focus on your goal, on your passion, live for yourself, everything else will come to you at the right time, as it is destined. But to live your life with high spirit you have to build your career." Pushpa listens to every single word attentively without uttering a word and then smiles at her mother with her wet eyes.
Next day, she comes up to the drawing room where the other members were present. She steadily speaks up " Amma, Nana and my dear Akka( sister) you people have been by my side all the time. You also have faced such disgusting hitches along with me. I have only made you feel ashamed out of my stupid acts but now I truly want to do something. I want to live a life that is disciplined and that would help me build up my passion. I want to study higher and higher just like my Amma and get educated." She sobs as she finishes her words. All the three of them come to her and hug her, bless her and wish her the best for her future.
In the next few years, Pushpa maintained a self-disciplined life without looking back at the sore chapters of her past life. She eventually grew to a whole lady with a virtuous and a candid personality. After inheriting a higher education she finally was able to open up a company of her own where the CEO of the company is herself. With her sharp and positive ideas Pushpa flourished in her life and happened to meet a guy for business purposes, both fell for each other and tied a knot a year later. And Pushpa then lived a happily married and successful life.
