Status Quo
Status Quo
Everything was going fine,
Suddenly an epidemic struck,
The authorities don't have an answer,
They applied lockdown,
So everything was shut.
But this acted as a blessing in disguise,
The pollution levels went zero,
The air quality becomes normal,
The sky turned blue,
And the Govt promised to maintain.
Shanu was a college student and student activists as well. As the epidemic struck he and his friends found a sea change in the environment around. The water in the local river was pure with the right content of oxygen. They could find those varieties of fishes in the river which they thought have extincted. They could also find more greenery around. The plants were much more healthy. They found birds around in much more quantities and that too at the right time. They could clearly locate excit
ement in their chirping as they were sending the message "well-done humans" at last we can live together. They found the breathing problems in people disappearing. It was really a city worth living in which a few days before was not. So they made an association of all the educational institutions of state and named it " Students for status quo". In which they decided to make representation to the chief minister telling him to ensure the status quo in the environment. Don't allow it to now deteriorate. Nature has taught us a lesson but gave us again a chance to mend our ways. The chief minister immediately agreed and brought a law to keep the status quo in the environment. If anyone tried to damage it, will face consequences like had to pay for the damages. He or she will be banned from carrying out any activity in the future and has to face imprisonment.
