Hi, fatty what is up? What plans for lunch, dinner, etc. Did you check your weight recently? It must be quite a number of kgs . These were commonly targeted at Snehal who was bulky as per normal standards. She had been like this even as a child and teenager and never bothered about these comments She rather laughed it away. But now as a young adult her real problems started whether it was personallorprofessionally.

She was highly educated and much talented and so getting a job was not an issue but she was always worried about what a kind of response she would be getting at the new place of work if and when she would be personally too her grandparents and parents were worried about her marriage prospects for the obvious reason being her body weight. So this was an issue that could not be overlooked at any cost. Finally she lands up with a good job with good salary and perks but the only trouble being she would be traveling frequently on business trips. Her parents were ok with it and so she takes up the new job with a lot of positive outlook and expectations.

Three months into the job with no major issues, Snehal gets the first opportunity to travel to the financial capital of our country to attend an important meeting. With all excitement She packs her bags and reaches the Airport and takes a seat in the lounge amidst wired looks from those waiting in the lounge which she obviously knows is about how obese she is. After the announcement she takes the bus and reaches the flight, boards it and looks for her seat. She had been allocated the window seat. So far nice. Just then a middle aged man comes and occupies the seat next to her. He looked grumpy, and serious who makes an odd sigh as if expressing his displeasure about his Co passenger. . S

nehal ignores it and looks out of the window. The man takes out his tablet and starts typing something that was not at all called for. He turns the screen towards Snehal so that she notices what he was writing. Very mean indeed and what he wrote was meaner that made Snehal burst into tears He writes I am sharing the space with a funny gunny bag sort of person I think she is a lady he he ! Snehal was so hurt but could do nothing when suddenly there is a tap on the man's shoulder with an instruction from a passenger back seat saying Mr. please get up, let us exchange seats. The man was shocked at the stern voice and he silently exchanges his seat providing relief to Snehal.           .  .      . .

The young man was silently observing what was going on in the seat before his. Instead of ignoring the matter which normally many of us do, he took up the right step at the right time of course it was a simple one but the best one to be done at that time. Body shaming is mostly done by many knowingly or unknowingly . But the repurcurrsions are to much to tolerate sometimes, many times.
