Second Inning

Rashmika was sitting by the window and having her tea. She was very happy as yesterday she had got her first salary. Even though it was just 200$, but the feeling of happiness and contentment she had got through this financial independence was far more than anything else.

13 years back Rashmika was working with a MNC and was doing pretty well but as she was expecting her first child, things started changing drastically for her and she had to quit her job. Although she wanted to continue her job, but she didn't got much family support and finally ended quiting her job with a heavy heart.

From then, looking after her children, doing the household chores, and looking after the needs of other family members in her family became her first priority. Now she was completely dependent upon her husband for her financial needs. Many a times she ended up sacrificing her needs as she felt quite uneasy to ask money from her husband.

But after 13 years from then things changed drastically for her. Her kids had grown up by now and they were a nuclear family now.

After her household chores, now she was getting ample time for herself. One day her friend told her about data entry jobs which could be done by home. She thought of trying it and after a short training from home itself, she started with her work. She was trying hard to be more precise with her work. She had to really worked hard as many new things were added on the workfront. She was very smart and was able to learn all the new things on the work front very fast.

This was the start of her second inning. This time she was more confident, mature, firm on her decisions. No one was able to manipulate her thoughts. That day she herself took her husband and her children to the nearby restaurant and paid the bill by herself. When she was paying the bill she was so happy.

Even though she didn't ate much, she was content. Content by heart that she was financially stable now and in her coming years she was planning to have a small business of hers where she can provide work from home opportunities to the new mother's so that they can be financially independent too.

It's so true that a small step towards positivity can bring so much positive change in your life. God always gives us a second chance. We should be able to grab the opportunity and move forward towards our second inning.
