PRALAY

28th December - 2020

Khanjan, Devang , Malhar, Krrish and Hitarth, five friends who had no family but only had each other They all were working as day labourers and had second jobs in the evening. Earnings nothing and barely surviving. On 28th December, evening time when they were taking a cigar break they overhead a conversation of two men standing across the street. They were taking about hiding and finding a safe place for them and their family on 31st December. They listened but didn't cared and got back to their work.

30th December. Afternoon

In two days they all came two know what will be happening the day after. The government declared a pralay which means from 31st December 12 pm to 2021 12 am every crime would be legal and anything could happen in those 12 hours. They all got scared at first but then thought why would any person would kill them as they have no money or anything to give so they just decided to hide on the rooftop of the building where they were working as labourers for 12 hours quietly and also because no one would notice them too.

31st December morning

When they woke up they didn't see or heard a voice of any person, no one came to work, no soul on the street, seeing this they came to know how real this day was going to get.

Afternoon 12pm

A loud siren heard which indicated pralay had begun. All five friends were hiding on the rooftop but not for long. Approximately after an hour, a group of three thieves came from robbing a house and needed a safe base for their money so they also decided to got to the rooftop not knowing there were people already hiding meanwhile devang  and Malhar were sleeping while Khanjan, Hitarth and Krrish were awake, Hitarth heard footsteps coming from downstairs so he went near the stairs to check and out of nowhere one of three individuals hit him with a gun and so he fell on the ground, the man pointed the gun towards Khanjan and Krrish and tied their hands. As the three were planning to kill them, Malhar came from behind and started a brawl with two of their member at the same time Devang and the other individual with the gun where fighting for the gun hand in hand and Devang accidentally shot one of the thieves, Malhar was able to beat them so much that they became unconscious, it was no surprise for the other four as he was the bulkiest among them. All five went silent seeing a person shot dead infront of their eyes and realised this is place is not safe anymore.

Deavang - " this place is not safe anymore, more people could come here for hideout with more guns too"

Hitarth - " agreed, atleast we should get out of the this place as fast as possible"

Khanjan - " any place we go, people are going to find us, there is no place to hide, there are probably people on the street too, these people have a bag full of money which im sure they robbed from somewhere. "

Hitarth - " what's your point ?"

Khanjan - " we are poor too, we need money too, I think we should also start stealing money from people and at the same time hide from people who trying to rob or kill us".

Devang - " its a crime, we can't -

Khanjan - " not today, every crime, murder, robbery is legal for 12 hours, I say we should take advantage of these situation "

Agree to disagree, they all decided to commit crime for which they will not be punished, they took the gun from the people that came to attack not to shoot but to scare.

When they started walking, hiding from everyone ahead, they saw riots on the street, people killing everyone, people on cars firing guns in the air for pleasure, they realised they need protection and and a vehicle to travel. Hitarth's second job was working in a mechanic store, he learned how start and repair a car. They saw a car on the street that could easily accommodate everyone, Hitarth was able to start the car without the keys and started driving.

On the way they saw many people who were running and hiding from everyone, Devang used to point gun towards them at the same time Krrish and Khanjan forcefully took their money and went on their way without killing anyone, these small robberies went on for quite some time so they collected a fine amount of money from everyone but soon their car went out of gas and again started searching for another car on the street.

Looking for a car Malhar noticed a group of 4-5 people on the street torturing and beating two people on the ground beside which person was lying unconscious on the ground with bruises on his body. They first decided not to involve and head to another direction but they saw that they were holding a lot of money. The five decided to take the risk and steal money from those people, save those 3 guys and then leave everyone alone. They attacked with whatever was in their hands.

The fight began, the other two people were bearley holding on and fighting back but none of them noticed that just a few metres away there was a black car in which two people were sitting with their guns which were part of the gang, they saw the brawl and got out with their guns and immediately pointed towards Malhar and Hitarth, just when they were going to pull the trigger deavang shot them both, one died from bullet on his chest and second brutally injured from bullet on his legs, due to which the other guys ran away leaving those five with all the money, guns, car and resources they needed to survive the night but they also saved those three guys who were being tortured by the gang and between these eight people an intense conversation took place.

Those three people were brothers named - Devarsh, Aryan and Jenish who later became conscious.

Malhar - " hope you guys are fine and alive".

Devarsh (the oldest brother) - " for now, yes ".

Khanjan - " alright, we got the money we can go ahead now ".

Devarsh - " its our Money which those people were taking from us ".

Khanjan - " we just saved your lives, we are going to take it anyway ".

Devarsh - " you don't even know how much trouble you are in now. Those guys 7-8 guys were just a few guys belonging to the kalyug gang. Those people who ran away will come back with more men and gun, you won't get away with the money and their men you just killed."

Devang - " we need to get out of the city as soon as possible ".

Devarsh - " people of kalyug gang will be still chasing you even after this is all over.the only way to live is kill the leader today before midnight".

Hitarth - " no we aren't not going to kill anyone. We eight people cannot defeat an entire gang and kill his leader in Just few hours, we are just some labourers who wanted some money and survive peacefully".

Aryan - " I know what you are going through but we have lost more today, those people broke into our house, killed our parents, took all our Money and it wasn't enough, they started beating us on the middle of the road".

Krrish - " what we are going to do now ? We simply don't have enough weapons and we don't even know where to find their leader before his men finds us and kills us".

Devarsh- " we make a deal.you help us Find the leader before midnight and kill him, you will get whole lot of his money from him while me and my brothers will get our revenge for killing our Parents, we have nothing to do with money ".

Everyone looking at each other's eyes as if there souls are discussing what they should do.

Devarsh - " we don't have much time and Kalyug will find us and kill us sooner or later, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain from killing him ".

Devaang - " fine, we kill him and part ways, deal ?."

Devarsh - "deal".

Khanjan - " alright then, how do we find him and before that we all need guns and ammo as fast as possible ".

They all remember that one of the members of the gang was still on the ground with a bullet on his leg. Malahar beats on his injured leg untill he gave all the information he knows about kalyug and his leader. They came to know that just a few kilometres away there is an apartment on the 10th floor where they have set up their base for Tonight with 15 guards protection all their guns, ammo and all other resources.

They took the car which the guys left behind and then founded another car on their way. With 2 cars, few guns, ammo and weapons these eight guys are on their way to attack the apartment which holds all the resources needed to kill kalyug gang.

9 PM

Khanjan, devang, Krrish and devarsh were in one car leading the team ahead and the other guys back in the second car. They saw

5 guards guarding the elevator and stairs, there was no one else inside the building accept those guards.

Everyone was on the front so they all decided to go to the back and find another entrance but there wasn't any. They decided to climb but not everyone could climb at once so they decided to split in same teams as they came. Khanjan, devang, Krrish and devarsh started climbing towards the 10th floor while the other team stayed down as any trouble came, they will signal them.

They reached the tenth floor apartment's window, luckily the window was open and without any disturbance they all went inside the building accept Krrish, he remained hanging on the window so he can receive signals of trouble from the ground and was handed a gun too. Khanjan, Devang and devarsh were now inside the building, there only plan was to steal as many resources as they can without any trouble and than attack the guards by which they would get more information about their leader but they couldn't because when they took a glance through the side of the room, they saw all 10 guards sleeping in the room surrounded by mass weaponry. It was impossible to pick up anything and not make a noise so the trio was trying to come up with another plan hiding in the bathroom.

While discussing, one of the guard stood up to go to the bathroom but he didn't knew that they were already hiding in the bathroom, as soon as he opened the door the guard saw Khanjan, Devang and devarsh, before he could shout or pull out his gun, Devarsh sliced his throat with a knife in his hand and didn't let a voice heard to the other guards. After killing one guard they found 2 guns, and one small grenade which now should be used wisely to kill the rest so they came with another plan. Using a thin rope they tied the grenade with a door knob of the room where the the guards were sleeping.

They started a firing on the other room keeping the door closed. Hearing the gun fired, all guards became awake and rushed to the other room, as soon as they opend the door, The grenade exploded with which their flesh and blood sprinkled all over the room.

They quickly took all the weapons, bombs and armour with them as much as they could and went downstairs but founded themselves in a bigger trouble as the other team on the ground was held hostage with a gun on their head by the other 5 guards, they told them to drop everything they stole from upstairs otherwise they will pull the trigger. They had no other choice but to start unpacking. They gave back all they had taken and thought they won't let us go alive out of here. The guards asked everyone what were there last wish and they received answer with bullets on their heads as they forgot Krrish was still hanging with a gun and was just waiting for the right time to strike.

At last each and everyone on the team had guns, enough ammo to attack kalyug leader.They found the address to his headquarters where he was protected by atleast 50 people each with guns and grenades also. They needed a solid plan to kill and at the same being alive too.

After an hour of driving at 10:30 they reached outside kalyug's headquarters, it was a huge mansion probably belonging to someone else inside which atleast 10 -15 guards on each floor protection shastri and his stolen money. Outside the mansion 20 -25 guards protection every possible entrance of the house. They had already figured out their plan on their way and now their was neither turning back nor time to rest, as soon as they figured out the number of guards protection the entrance, the improvised their plan and attacked.

The didn't wanted the guards to know about their presence so they decided to kill everyone one by one silently without alerting anyone. everyone went inside crawling to find a safe spot to start their hunt meanwhile Krrish and aryan started targeting each guard's head and shoot them with a sniper. The other six people divided into three teams and every team had same strategy to kill every guard. One person would come infront of a guard and act as a decoy, as soon as the guard notices, the other person would come from another direction and kill him with a knife leaving no voice. If a team comes across more than one guard, the sniper would always be there to back them up. One by one every guard outside the house was killed.

Now everyone knew that when they'll open the door, each and every guard would be ready to shoot at them so they had a different plan to attack. Khanjan and Devang where day labourers and worked in the same construction site but in the evenings, they worked together too. This was the house of their old boss who appointed both Devang and Khanjan as a night Watchmen, they figured he was killed by kalyug leader and took over. Khanjan and Devang didn't knew much about the inside of the building but they remember every Square inch of outside. There was an underground parking where there were no guards, they went inside and found many cars but more importantly they found two elevators which led to the second floor of the mansion.

The guards inside the building saw both the elevators comming upstairs, they knew someone is coming and alerted all the other guards so everyone quickly pointed towars the door and were ready to shoot as soon as it opens. Both the elevator doors opened and no one was there and out of nowhere two cars smashed the front door and crashed into the house. Everything happened in such a split of a second that before many of the guards could turn around to see what was happening, all eight people fired like a maniac and threw grenades at them, the chaos escalted quickly, everyone had split and after a few moments they saw the leader escaping with few guards. It became very difficult for anyone to go near him. They had to fight back and at the same time they had to keep the leader inside, at this time jenish yelled

- " don't worry, let him go "

Everyone was surprised but they had no other option too. When the leader and his 3 guards where looking for a car to ran away, they found out that tiers of every car had been ripped apart.

Jenish - " we did that "

Kalyug leader viran looks and sees that each and every member of his gang is dead and all eight people are alive and looking at him.

Viran - "if I can't go, you can't go too and we'll all die right here "

Malhar - " what do you mean by everyone ?"

Viran - " there is a time bomb inside this house and when it'll explode every in the radius of three kilometres will die".

Khanjan - " when does the timer goes off ?"

Viran - 12 am or should I say in exactly 15 minutes ".

Devang - " we don't have any car, how will we get out without any wheels?"

Devarsh - " we all are going to die now "

Aryan - " atleast we killed the most dangerous gangster in the city and did some good for the people ".

Krrish - " I don't care about that, I don't want no money, I just want to live!"

Devang - " is there any way we could deactivate it ?"

Viran- " even if I could , I wouldn't tell you "

Malhar - " what a coincidence !"

Devang - " what ?"

Malhar - " can't you guys see ? There's our building, our construction site, where this all started, its just across the street ".

*Khanjan gets an idea *

Khanjan (shouts) - "everyone, run as fast as you can and get to the top of the building right now".

Everyone was confused but still ran and made it to the top of the building and few minutes were left for the the explosion and they took viran with them also.

*They all sat on the top of the building*

Devarsh - " what's the point of being here ?"

Khanjan - " the blast will kill everyone within three kilometres if they are on the ground, maybe it won't affect us if we are at such height"

Right then 12 am striked, a big ball of fire started growing and destroying everything on its way which indicated the end of pralay. Everyone shot viran till they were out of bullets and threw his body out of the building into the fire.

Everyone was standing on top of the building watching the pralay and kalyug end before their eyes, they could hear the siren of police and ambulance, screaming of people on the street crying for help.

Who thought five day labourers and three blood brothers will turn down the biggest gangster of the city.
