My trip to Vandalur
My trip to Vandalur
It was the year 2017. I had just turned 7. I was super excited as I had been planning on a trip to Arignar Anna Zoological Park, popularly known as Vandalur Zoo. I had heard a lot about it from my uncle who was working as a ranger there. Each time I used to visit his house he showed me pictures of different animals and reptiles at the zoo. On a shiny weekend morning, my dream was finally about to come true as I convinced my parents to take me to the zoo. They agreed after a long deliberation. I had purchased the required cool drinks and snacks the evening before and we set out the next day. The weather was very hot and humid
I arrived at the Vandalur zoo finally after what seemed an eternal journey. I pestered my dad to buy tickets quickly but there was a long queue of people waiting to go in. Finally, I entered the zoo in anticipation of wanting to see the animals I had always dreamt of seeing. To my dismay, I found many enclosures empty as the animals had been shifted to a different zoo. Whatever animals were left were huddled inside the shade because of the scorching sun. I was extremely disappointed and cried at not being able to enjoy it. My parents however consoled me and said we would be coming back again when the weather was good. We stayed for half day trying to catch a glimpse of whatever animal we could and left some time afternoon.
