📓 MNC Diary — Episode 6
Small Tasks, Big City & A Metro Ride to the Unexpected
Good morning, Diary.
Ohh, you also feeling the excitement, ha?
Just woke up, checked the watch — 6:00 AM.
Too early? Haaa… naahhh. I’m a morning guy.
And today, something felt different. I had energy. Real energy.
So I decided to step out into the Delhi morning.
---
Third Day in Delhi
Can you believe it? Already my third day in Delhi.
Two days flew by — just like that.
It honestly feels like I’m completing small, small tasks every day.
Almost like a video game.
Each day = a new level.
New missions.
New surprises.
New drama.
And today, I was ready for whatever this new level had planned.
---
The Walk
The streets were alive even at sunrise.
Morning walkers everywhere —
jogging, sprinting, strolling, headphones on, lost in their worlds.
After about ten minutes, I reached a nearby park.
But calling it a “park” is an insult.
It was HUGE.
Kids running.
College students jogging.
Uncles & aunties power-walking.
Seniors sitting on benches, laughing and chatting.
Delhi people seem very health conscious.
Didn’t expect that, honestly.
---
Tea Time
By the time I looked at my watch, it was already 7:30 AM.
A cup of tea and a plate of poha. Simple.
But Diary, I’m telling you —
no matter what problems you’re drowning in,
one sip of chai just resets life.
Magic of chai. ☕✨
---
Interrupted Thoughts
There I was… enjoying my me-time, thinking about life and struggles.
Everyone has their fights, right?
And just when I was sinking deep into thoughts—
“Hey Raj…”
I turned around.
No, not her.
It was Nitish, my Team Leader.
---
Chai & Coffee
TL came over in joggers, holding coffee, smiling like he owned the morning.
“So, how are you enjoying our Delhi?” he asked.
“Yes, Nitish, all good,” I replied.
Then I couldn’t stop myself:
“So you’re a health-conscious guy ha… jogging in joggers?” 😅
He smirked. “What do you think? Look at me.”
Now Diary, before I describe him further:
When Nitish stands,
you genuinely can’t tell if he’s facing you or facing away.
Front and back — same.
Think of a drum.
Or a snowman — without the snow.
You got the picture.
---
The Flip
I was laughing internally… until he spoke again.
Very quietly, he said,
“I have one medical condition.”
Everything inside me slowed down.
He continued,
“Even if I eat less, my weight keeps increasing. Hormonal issues.
I’m trying genuinely — gym, walking — but it’s tough.”
The smile on his face didn’t match the pain in his eyes.
And that’s when I remembered something:
When you want the truth, don’t listen to words. Look at the eyes.
Nitish… hardly 40, carrying so much silently.
For a moment, I felt genuinely bad.
Everyone has their own fight.
---
Back to the Room
By the time I checked my watch, it was 8:00 AM.
I said goodbye and walked back toward my hotel.
One more small task completed.
One more level cleared.
---
The Metro Ride
I reached my room around 8:24 AM, freshened up, got ready, and by 9:30 AM, I was all set.
But today again, management had scheduled those “mandatory” sessions.
Mood?
Zero.
So I decided to leave early and take the metro.
Swiped in, got into the train — and wow.
From hotel to office in 10 minutes.
Fast. Convenient.
And of course… crowded.
---
At the Office
Reached around 10:15 AM.
Session had already started.
Today’s topic?
AI. Artificial Intelligence.
And HR, being HR, had decided to “teach” us AI in one hour.
Instead of teaching, they were just asking questions.
Like hello??
If we knew everything, why would we sit here? 😅
---
Back to Routine
After that, the usual corporate cycle:
Stand-up call.
Meetings.
Task updates.
Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V.
Nothing dramatic.
Until night.
---
The Night Surprise
At 10:30 PM, I left office and booked a cab.
Waiting outside…
And suddenly—
“Hey Raj…”
You guessed right.
It was Kajal.
But today…
she was different.
White dress.
Open hair.
Earrings.
Silver-white necklace.
And honestly…
she looked stunning.
I stared.
For a few seconds too long.
She smiled knowingly.
“Hey Raj, all good?”
She knew I noticed.
She knew she was looking fab.
I cleared my throat,
“Again client meeting?”
She nodded.
“Yeah… meeting and dinner.”
“Did you have dinner?” I asked.
She tilted her head,
“And you? Did you have your dinner yet?”
“No, not yet.”
She smiled softly.
“If you have time, we can grab something?”
My introvert soul said: NO.
“I’ll go freshen up and then eat. It’s already 11.”
Just then, my cab arrived.
I started walking… she didn’t.
And Diary, I’m a good guy.
“Let me drop you,” I said.
She smiled.
---
Back in the Cab — Again
Same cab ride.
Same silence.
Same city lights.
But this silence… didn’t feel heavy.
It felt okay.
Halfway through the ride, she said:
“Let’s exchange numbers.
How many days are you in Delhi?
We can catch up in free time.”
My brain: ERROR 404.
But I acted normal and gave her my number.
She saved it, smiled again.
“Good night, Raj.”
“Good night, Kajal.”
The silence that followed wasn’t awkward anymore.
It felt like a pause.
A comfortable one.
A pause that hints something may begin later…
but doesn’t have to right now....
