Chapter 1:

"Ok it's time... Please work," said Charlie. She wasn't sure what she was about to do. This all started a week ago when "it" was bought by her mom from an antique shop that sold stuff from the '90s. Her mom was old school and loved to adorn her house with vintage objects. One time she even put an old record player in Charlie's room. It turned out to be broken and would turn on in the middle of the night. Her dad mostly kept to himself and would come home late after Charlie was already sound asleep. He would kiss her forehead gently intending not to wake her up but she was a light sleeper and would always wake up. She hated mirrors. No matter how many times I highlight the word "hated" it would be no use. She detested them because she thought they didn't portray the person as their personality but on the basis of their looks. You might be wondering how she looked at herself? She took a photo. She was reliant on electronics. She was so attached that she would trust them with her life. In school, she didn't have a lot of friends as she didn't talk much and didn't try to interact with girls her age. Her only friend was her phone. Which she had with her all the time. One such day, she was walking to class and overheard few girls talking about this "mirror challenge". It was a challenge that helped people connect with the ones who had passed the same day they are contacting them on. But it's all about timing. You need to come back at exactly 12 hours after you went. She found this intriguing. But also was hesitant on doing this. Also, she didn't have a mirror in her room. And she didn't want her mom knowing she did this. So she decided to hear it from one ear and throw it out from the other. But during her classes, she couldn't stop thinking about it.

Chapter 2:

She rushed home and opened her notepad and wrote what all she would need. That evening, her mom bought a large vintage mirror. And told Charlie that it would be kept in her room. She was more than excited. But she tried not to show it. She acted like she hated everybody for putting that mirror in her room but inside she was actually ecstatic about it. She waited as her mom drilled the mirror on her wall. And left for the night. She decided to wait for an hour so that her mom would be asleep and she wouldn't know about it. She said, " Mirror, mirror on the wall, please lead me to a place which is kept a secret from all." Nothing happened. She stood there just staring at the mirror in disbelief. She waited and waited. But nothing. She just wanted to sleep now. It wasn't worth it anyway. Sleep is more important. The next day she woke up, she called for her mom. She got no answer. She ran outside. She couldn't find her parents. She got a thought. Maybe she was in the other world.

Chapter 3:

Now all she had was.... 12 hours. 12 hours to visit this place. She bathed, changed and went outside. It was a typical sunny day. She found...her Aunt Josephine. Had she really died today? She didn't have  a strong connection with anyone else in her family rather than her parents even then it was sad. She continued to meet other people but she found one girl, in particular, that was much like her. They talked and Charlie found out that she had died in a firing that happened in the mall they had gone to in the night. She empathized with her. The girl didn't know whether her parents were alive or not. Charlie said she'd help her find them. They went everywhere. Her parents nowhere to be found. At last, it was time for her to leave. But the girl wouldn't let go. She kept cribbing that they still had to find parents. When Charlie had the chance she ran away back to her house. And to the mirror. Anticipating that she would reach back in time. Suddenly the girl was behind her and Charlie quickly went inside the mirror leaving the other world. She didn't look back. She didn't want to.

Chapter 4:

"Where were you? I got so worried. And your dad missed his work. What did he do it for? Just to see you come out of your room after 12 whole hours. Also, your aunt Josephine died today and your father and I had to miss her funeral just to find you. Miss Brown, you are grounded. And you will spend the rest of the day with Uncle Henry and comforting him for his loss. DO NOT go to your room. I should not see you up there." said her mom. "Fine, whatever". She went to pick up her bag from her room. And she saw a doll. It looked an awful lot like the girl she met in the other world.
