Love, Celebration And Lights

It was 5:30 am, Rishabh was ready to leave for his official trip to Dubai; leaving his newlywed at home alone. Kriti was feeling a bit low as she was expecting to celebrate her first festival of light with him.

"Your OLA is here."

"Okay! Coming in five minutes. Can you please ask him to wait!"

He took his cab and leave for the airport. Kriti stood in the balcony and watch the car turning right at the end of the street. Then she leaned on the bamboo chair and enjoyed the sunrise. Moments later, she went into her room. Her eye gazed at the gift kept on the bed, "To my loving wife, from yours.....". She immediately jumped on the bed and opened it. It was a beautiful Red Saree with Black Crochet Lace at the borders. She was delighted with the gift. Happy

She kept the gift in her cupboard and started to clean her home. Then she started decorating it with garlands of lights and flowers. It was looking elegant more than she expected to be. After all this, she decided to go for lunch at her favourite restaurant nearby. She relished her meal and was missing her husband, family, and friends a lot in this new city; where she does not know anyone.

In the afternoon, she went to the Mall and did some shopping for her loved ones. The entire afternoon was consumed. She immediately books an ola and rushed back. On her way back, she bought colours and flowers for rangoli.

Within a fraction of seconds, she was ready with everything to make a rangoli at her home's entrance to welcome happiness and prosperity to enter her home and bless them. With amazing rangoli and lights, her home was ready for Diwali. Then she got ready for rituals to be performed on this auspicious festival in that sari which Rishabh gifted her this morning.

She was almost ready to start with her ritual, she heard a doorbell. It was surprising for her as she wasn't expecting any guests, as she was not acquainted with anyone here. Leaving her thoughts behind, she opened the door,

" HAPPY DIWALI"

Rishabh was there with a big surprise for her, her parents and his parents were there at her door. She screamed and hugged everyone with enjoyment. This was the best gift one can give to his wife on Diwali. She welcomed everyone and wished them "Happy Diwali".

"So, this is your official trip to Dubai."

"Yes, it took weeks to prepare this surprise for you. First, it took time to convince them to visit us at Diwali. Second, most importantly, to keep it from you. Next, I booked my first flight to Delhi, then wait for them at the airport and take a flight to Bangalore next. So ideally, since morning I'm flying. My first Diwali in the air: Bangalore- Delhi, Delhi- Bangalore. Wow, you look pretty in this saree. Happy First Diwali Mrs. Kriti Rishabh Malhotra. So, did you like the surprise?"

"Yes, Mr. Rishabh Malhotra, I adored it as I never imagined it. Thanks for the great gift.'

"Mom, dad, please get freshen up. I am glad you came here, meanwhile, I prepare dinner for us."

"Kriti dear, no need. I have already ordered it, it will be delivered within 30 minutes."

Then, everyone in the family did Laxmi pooja, lit diyas and enjoyed a lot. This surprise gathering made Kriti's first Diwali memorable and precious.
