Once upon a time, a king from the land of wisdom and a queen from the land of prosperity got married by their ancestors. After a year, they were blessed with a baby girl. They named their little princess Namaya; she had beautiful big black eyes and jet-black curly hair.

The fairies who came to bless the child were appalled and murmured among themselves. The queen summoned them to speak out loud. One of the fairies came forward and said, "Oh my mighty queen! All the children born in the land of wisdom have brown eyes and brown hair. All the children born in the land of prosperity have blue eyes and red hair. However, the little princess is born with black eyes and hair!"

The wise king asked, "fairies of virtue, isn't the little princess unique and special?"

The fairy answered, "Oh our wise king! We heard that children are born with different colors of eyes and hair only in the land of wizardry!"

The wise king yelled, "as fairies, your job is to bless the child with virtues and not to curse the child with your prejudiced hearsay."

The fairies apologized to the king, blessed the child, and flew to their fairyland. However, the news spread as wildfire throughout the country. The queen saw Namaya as a threat and treated her with utmost rigidness, whereas the king showered Namaya with wise care and love. When the little princess turned 3, the kingdom experienced famine and starvation. The king left the castle seeking solutions to fix the problem. The queen fell sick and left the kingdom in search of treatment.

Most soldiers and staff left the castle except for an old chef and a few employees. The people fenced the castle with many talismans as they believed Namaya and the castle she lived in brought ill fate to the kingdom.

Namaya was too little to understand or handle. She was naive and innocent as any baby girl. She laughed at any animated things around her. She was a sensitive and emotional kid. The more she wanted parental love and protection, the more she felt abandoned. She slept alone, terrified, and trembled until the warmth of sun rays touched her face. Sometimes, she screamed at moving insects and shadows, but no one came for help. Somedays, she fell sick and shivered due to high temperature, some days, she crawled and rolled with hunger pangs. However, no one came for her rescue. She learned to befriend every animal that visits her. In fact, all the animals accept her the way she is.

The terrifying castle turns into her shield and shell. Years passed, people in the kingdom prospered but they never changed their opinion on her. They cooked up lot many fabricated stories about the cursed castle and the princess. Namaya mastered loneliness by keeping her busy learning art, music and literature. She had an army of animals to protect and love her. As the saying goes, what didn't kill her made her stronger!
