One morning, Princess Namaya woke up to the sound of clanking at her huge castle gates. To her surprise, she found couple of boys calling loud for an animal. She just went out to her balcony and asked, "why are you making noises?" They both got scared and stepped away from the door. Then reluctantly turned back to her door and she asked again, "what do you want?" One boy answered, "my puppy is inside!" Then the princess checked all around the castle and responded after a few minutes, "I don't see any puppy anywhere!" The other boy whispered, "I told you this is a cursed castle and so our puppy disappeared!" Then the other boy threw a stone at the princess and ran away!

Namaya was slogging and wondering what wrong did I do! Suddenly, there was a thin whining sound under her bed. She just jumped out of her bed and checked. Indeed, there was a 4-month old brown-colored puppy looked at here with so much trust and love. She went running to the gate to call the boys back as she wanted to give them their puppy. But to her dismay, those boys were nowhere in the sight... She wasn't able to understand when the whole world let her alone and cursed her for nothing of her fault. This four-legged wagged her tail and looked at her with all love. Even when Namaya let the puppy out of the castle, she came running back to her with no reason Namaya could understand of. Though she was in her teens, she learned her harsh lesson of being alone and independent is inevitable. She couldn't fathom that this small animal accepted her without a second thought. So, she just started feeding the puppy and named her Brownie by her color.

The puppy never left her side and she put her head on her feet while sleeping. The warmth she has been longing to get from her kind was abundantly and unconditionally gifted by the puppy to her. After a week, those boys again returned to the castle in search of the puppy. But, the puppy ran in fear and hid herself under the bed. Then Princess checked with them where did they get her and they mentioned that they took her from the road. She asked them to bring their parents to get the puppy as the puppy was scared of them. She wanted to return to some responsible adult who can make sure of the puppy's safety. But, those boys again started yelling at her and she this time got really offended and fiercely walked closer to them. They ran away in fear and never returned at all.

She was in fear that they might turn back with their parents but days turned weeks, weeks turned months and months turned years. That's how princess Namaya was introduced to unconditional love of a dog! Brownie had all regal qualities for a dog! Namaya kept wondering how could a dog behave so poise and elegant. Brownie never once acted wild or even licked Namaya. She was the cleanest and most obedient being. They grew fond of each other's company. Namaya used to feel low as humans always left her alone but when Brownie came into her life she felt worthy. Though Brownie tried to save herself from two bullies and trusted Namaya to be her safeguard. Namaya felt that Brownie rescued her from becoming a narcistic and ruder human being; Brownie gave her hope that Namaya can genuinely act responsible and caring out and out till the end. Their bond lasted for a decade and Brownie just disappeared from her life just like that.

Princess Namaya only knows unconditional love from animals! In those 10 years, Brownie gave birth to 4 puppies, and brought in her cat friend home too and at a point the castle used to be filled with dogs and cats. Namaya, learned all her life lessons from them: keeping up with self discipline, living in the present, living one day at a time, managing losses and pain, respecting other beings for who they are, making someone feel important, coping with no one and the list could go on and on. Namaya grew up without losing the touch of kindness only because all animals in her life. Though Namaya chose to stay away from taking responsibility of other beings after she lost Brownie, somehow multiple felines keep her accompanied even without her conscious choice.
