Lockdown - What It Taught Us
Lockdown - What It Taught Us3 mins 4 3 mins 4
None of us knew that a tiny virus would break out and rule the world! But yet, here we are, experiencing one of the toughest times ever! "Lockdown". I never knew it would be like this! But then again, I never knew anything! It all came to me with experience. Our story is going to get lost in history and I request you to make it interesting. This period should be something the future generations can learn from. Firstly, we should learn to accept the fact that this is happening. Life is a dynamite! We can never know what's going to happen and when! Things just...happen! They just come out like a blast; out of the blue! Accepting and adapting to it is our responsibility. We are expected to understand that all this is happening for our benefit.
"When life throws lemons at you, make a lemonade out of it!
This thought, though it sounds funny, is highly relevant! Many of us are getting into depression and are very annoyed with the current events. It is a fact and we can't change it. For example, you can't just say that the Sun rises in the West as it is factually (and logically) wrong! Instead, we can learn to adapt to what's happening around us. This is one of the best ways to ignore problems and to live a happy and carefree life.
There's no denying to the fact that we have learnt many things through this period. One thing that every one of us has learnt is staying hygienic. According to me, Coronavirus wouldn't have taken so many lives if we had stayed hygienic from the beginning. Along with this, all of us learnt many other things! Take me as an example. I learnt how to read and write a language, I learnt abstract painting and doodling (though I'm not perfect at it). This is the apt time for us all to hone our talents. This way, we can enjoy as well as learn! Lockdown is just another word for "self-analysis".
Another thing I saw in myself was the happier side of me! It helped me a lot! They say that happiness is found within ourselves. This is true. The causes of being happy may vary. For example, I get extremely happy when I listen to music. This lockdown has helped us to discover ourselves and stop giving ourselves a hard time feeling pressurized and depressed. It helped us see and understand what we truly are. I wouldn't have been able to type this right now if it wasn't for the lockdown! Of course, we all get many assignments or projects. Even then, the lockdown has given us time to do things which we couldn't do before! Just like every time, this time too shall pass. Till then, live your best!
