Life Of An Unmarried Girl

An Unmarried girl may have to face insults and bad comments on her back. If it is her choice, totally depends on her choice. Then no one can force her to marry without her desire.

According to Indian mentallity, if a girl’s age is about 22/23, she should marry, after graduation marriage is must.

And God forbid if some woman chooses to be single and not adhere to the above expectation, she would be treated like an alien.

The most asked questions to a single, independent, working woman in India are always like –

  • ‘When are you getting married?’
  • The jobs will come and go, but marriage stays forever. Till when you’ll be doing this job?’
  • ‘If you won’t marry now, after 30 it will be difficult to search a groom for you.’

Why?

Why is marriage considered to be such an important institution of India?

According to me, marriage is not everything is everyone’s life. Without marriage, a girl can live a better life. Marriage can’t bring you all the happiness.

I will narrate some true incidents here.

  1. I went to a Orphange home recently on my 21st birthday to spend some time with Orphan Children and distribute somethings to them. And I saw that there are many unmarried girls and they were taking care of the Orphans. They are called “Maa” by the children. Without marrying they are happy there. And also Govt. helped them. I felt happy for them.
  2. There is another unmarried 30-year-old girl who was my neighbour. She lives with her mother. And the thing is that she sacrificed her marriage only for her mother. Here is the incident, when she was in class 10th, her father died. She held her father's job after his father’s death. And she signed the bond at the time of joining that she couldn’t marry till her mother is alive. And now she is living with her mother. Also, she takes care of her other family members.
  3. Here is another girl, She married in 2010. But she did not know that her husband was a smoker and drunkard of all time. After marriage she faced domestic violence. Without any delay, she left her father-in-law's house. Now she is working in a Parlour and also earning good money for her living. Other unmarried girls also work in her Parlour.

In India, there are so many women who are unmarried till now and they are living their life in their own way. And they are the most powerful women of all time.

Are they unhappy?

“Whether a woman is single, in a relationship, married, or divorced, she must have the right to make her own choices just as any other Human being does”
