“Only Twenty Rupees, only Twenty Rupees. Ice cream, Ice cream”. It was an everyday affair for Raju.

He was holding the cart of Jubilant Ice-cream infront of the school.

“Father, father; I want Ice -cream’’ – young Pappu was screaming.

‘’ Pappu, you are already suffering from cough & cold”- His father retorted.

Raju was worried, the sale was not up to the mark. The “season change” issues were plaguing his day-to-day score.

“Baba, I want to have an ice-cream. All my friends: Himu, Avi, Nimmi enjoy ice-cream. I am the one who is left behind” – Raju was crying infront of his father.

“Brother, one ice-cream”- customer asked.

Raju had to return to the reality.

Raju, with his younger brother Rakesh & mother migrated to the city after their father died. He had been engaged in this business for the last 5/6 years. He got Rakesh admitted to school & his mother took up some menial jobs to keep the kitchen burning.

“Dada, I want to taste the Cornett Creamy Chocolate flavor of Jubilant ice-cream. My school mates often discuss about that” – an ecstatic Rakesh, one day told.

“Bhai, that costs nearly Rupees 100.’’ – replied Raju gloomily.

‘’ Don’t worry I will have you that shortly’’. -Raju

He could see the glitters in his younger brother’s eyes.

“Raju, what happened to the sales? Stocks are piling up. You have to employ extra efforts to sell them off.’’ – Sujit, a worried stockist of Jubilant. Raju works for him.

“Ok dada. Tomorrow on-wards I will slog for extra hours. Now I am leaving.” – Raju

“The Cornett Chocolate Flavor – only two pieces have been sold!! Plz work hard.”- Sujit was really concerned. Raju left after handing over Sujit the money earned from the days sales.

“Dada, this ice-cream is really cool. Tomorrow at school, I will declare that I have also tasted this flavor.’’ – Rakesh was on cloud nine.

Raju found that his brother & mother were really relishing on the Cornett Chocolate flavor ice-cream.

 Suddenly he felt that the day was really Jubilant!! The money saved from his daily earnings got utilized in the most optimal way.
