Dear Diary,

I found you in the attic today. From now on I will confide in you everything, everything that, as a 10-year-old, I should tell you.

I have always dreamt of becoming a traveller. I want to roam the entire world. I want to visit every place there is to visit. Perhaps one day you will see my dream come true. I will make you my travel diary.

October 12, 1990

Dear Diary,

I am on the train to Paris. I hear it is the city of light, and the most visited capital in the world. From there, I will head to several other cities near Paris.

October 18, 1990

Dear Diary,

I am sitting in a cab, admiring the Eiffel Tower. It is so enthralling, far more beautiful than anything I have ever seen.

August 3, 1995

Dear Diary,

I am in India, and I love it! From the majestic Taj Mahal to the India Gate and Red Fort, everything about the country is very unique.

I am about to board a flight to Hong Kong. Have to check in. Will talk later.

Dear Diary,

In all these years, I have gone to the USA, UK, France, India, China etc but nothing prepared me for this fantastic city. Yes, I am talking about Venice, the city of water. I am going there by ship. After exploring Venice, I will be off to Rome.

Dear Diary,

I now wonder why I ever traveled by plane and trains at all. Travelling by sea is the best! The smell of seawater is so cool and refreshing! Hopefully, I will reach Venice by next week.

The weather is stormy and it is raining cats and dogs. The gods are unleashing their fury. The sea is also very turbulent, and this worries me a little.
