Jinns
Jinns
Humans are known to be the most intelligent creatures on the earth and we have always been interested in discoveries and inventions. We have discovered about 1. 2 million species so far and scientists believe there are about 8-9 million species yet to be discovered. Not all these creatures are visible to us. I have always wondered these spiritual beings may just be another species inhabiting the planet which are invisible or just not visible to humans due to the restricted visible spectrum. One such invisible creatures I have always heard of from my grandmother's ghost stories is Jinn.
Every summer we would stay late at night listening to the stories of jinns. She would say it is a creature which is similar in appearance to humans but has been given the ability to transform itself into various other animal forms. Then she narrated a story of an Old scholar who once met jinn. She said on the way to the main city from her town, there was once a village which was now just a deserted area. The village was once all green and hundreds of families lived there. but then the villagers began to experience certain strange incidents which cannot be explained by any human. The villagers believed the village was occupied by jinns. that's when the villagers decided to leave the village one after the other until there was nobody left and now the village is just barren land and no man has ever entered the village after that even if they tried. People would fall sick even before entering the village and they would return. All the vehicles would automatically would be driven at the highest speed until the end of the deserted area.
So, once an old religious scholar decided to travel through the deserted area in his car. He started off towards the deserted area and when he reached there he tried to stop the car but the car wouldn't stop and his car began to speed up on its own. He then with the help of his spiritual knowledge tried to stop the car with his incantations and after a while the car stopped midway of the
deserted area with a sudden jerk. He then unfastened his seatbelt and got down from his car. He looked around there was nobody to be seen, not even a single life form. He began to walk towards the other side of the road towards the abandoned village. but he found nobody there so after walking aimlessly for a while, he came back and sat in his car and tried to start the car but the car wouldn't start at all. There was no way he could find a repair shop nearby and his only hope would be to stop a passerby vehicle. He stepped out of the car and waited for a while in order to stop any passerby.
After sometime, he found an old man in white clothes and a white beard mounted on a camel. He ran towards the old man and stopped him. " Where are you heading towards?" he asked. "I'm going to my home. " the old man replied. The Oldman dismounted the camel and asked what he was doing near the village and the scholar told him about how he tried to stop the car and now it wouldn't start at all. Then the Oldman offered to help him and the scholar took him towards the car. The old man went towards the car's front door and peeked into the car. The scholar was waiting near the car till the Oldman checked the car.
Then the Oldman came back and said he can ride the car now. The scholar couldn't believe his words but still sat in the car and to his surprise the car started. The scholar came out of the car and asked him how did he repair that. The Oldman Justin smiled. The scholar then thanked the old man and offered him money for his help. The old man laughed and replied " there is no value of this paper in my world. " The scholar asked what do you mean by in my world.
Then the Oldman replied that he was a jinn and the camel was his granddaughter, his only assistance in his old age and the car wouldn't start because of the young jinn who was sitting in the car. But now that he asked the young jinn to leave. so he can ride the car now and leave the village as soon as he can to avoid any trouble.
