Does Humanity Exists?
Does Humanity Exists?
In today's competitive world where general knowledge and current affairs are so important, I have almost stopped reading the daily newspaper. The definition of current affairs is now changed to a number of thefts, kidnaps and rapes in the city and how many are killed and injured due to negligence leading to accidents.
I always wonder whether humanity still exists or is dead and gone. When I ponder on my life, here are a few excerpts when I go down my memory lane.
Once I was looking for an auto on the highway to go home. I was in my second trimester and was all fit and fine. Usually, we get autos from that spot soon but that day was unusual. I almost asked 7-8 autos but none said a yes. Like me, few others were also looking for an auto to different places and everyonè was having a hard time that day.
I was patient and waited as I knew sooner or later, I will get an auto. After some time, an auto stopped. I heard a man (who was also waiting for auto like me for 15 minutes) standing beside me asking about my destination to the auto driver. Luckily the auto driver said a yes. He looked at me and said that I can go. I told him that if he is going the same place, he can als
o join. He said he was not going that way and he asked auto just for me. He was an elderly man. Before I even thank him properly he went away for his auto hunt. It was his way of helping a pregnant lady though I didn't ask for help or showed any sign of being tired or unwell.
Another instance is when after a tiring day in office with meetings, deadline deliverables and staying late while returning home I didn't get a seat and had to travel home standing in a bus for almost 90 minutes. After getting down from the bus I was immensely tired but had to go to pick vegetables. After taking a bag full of veggies, the aunty selling vegetables asked me whether I am unwell. She offered me to sit and also a glass of water. She asked me whether she should prepare lemon juice and asked if she could send someone with me to pick the heavy bag of veggies. I was amazed by her observation and concern. I thanked her wholeheartedly and left feeling much better than someone cared!
These instances make me think and thank that in today's materialistic world where everything is so unsafe, I met humanity for few moments like a surprise and I feel this is God's way of telling me that HE is with me always!
