Ganga (The Impure) Part 1

Part 1

Ganga was getting ready to go to work, She applied one more coat of lipstick and touch up. She adjusted her saree and pinned her pallu. Yathish entered the room and kept his college bag aside. Yatish smiled at his mom, "So getting ready to go, Mom??". Ganga turned around "Oh you have come, ya beta! I prepared your favorite Aloo paneer and roti, Have it on time, I need to rush now. My supervisor will be angry if I go late".

Yathish frowned "Mom, Why don't you quit your job?? look for day shift jobs please". 

Ganga "Sure dear, Just a matter of 4 months, once you complete your studies and join XYZ company, then I will quit my job and relax for a lifetime. 

Yatish held his mom and said, "Mom, I need 2000 rupees, to pay the exam fee for this semester".

Ganga was in a hurry, She took a handbag and looked for the amount, and handed over to Yathish. "Here take this, I am in a hurry. Eat on time, study well, and lock the doors before you sleep. Don't forget. I will be back in the morning.

She kissed him on his forehead and left home.

As soon as Ganga stepped out, Yathish too locked the house and went to meet his friend Anil and Keshav.

Keshav was a spoilt brat, He was a son of a rich businessman and Anil was from a middle-class family, Anil's father was a college professor. Keshav teased Yathish, So kid did you bring money from mom?? Yatish replied, "Yes Keshav, I lied to her that my exam fee is due. Where are you taking us today??".

Keshav took the money from Yathish and said "Grow up kid, I am taking you to heaven, once you go there you will become a man. Just follow me". He started his bike and zoomed.

After 30 minutes of the ride, they reached a crowded place that looked like a red light area. In the narrow lane stood few ladies who were bargaining with customers and few even tried to woo other men on the lane. Few ladies were staring at these two young men.

few giggled and hurled abuses too. Yatish felt awkward, but Keshav was walking as if he was a known personality and waved at everyone. They reached Laila bai house which was at the dead-end of the lane. It looked like a mini palace inside with many rooms and a big hall where mujra was happening, few drunkards were shelling out the notes on the dancers. Laila bai looked at them and gestured them to sit. She came to them "Namaste Keshav ji, How are you?? Who is this young lad??".

Keshav smirked and replied" Aaaare Laila I am doing fine, this is my friend, I wanted to show him heaven on earth, so I brought him here. Take care of this little kid, he needs to grow up and become a man by the time we leave this place". Both of them laughed loudly but Yathish was still uncomfortable and looked around with uneasiness. 

Laila bai noticed it and she called out to her assistant " Take this guy to room no 3, Ask her to take good care of him. She turned towards Keshav and said "Keshav ji My girls are experts and they will look after your kid. Send him with my assistant".

Keshav gestured Yathish to move, Yathish followed the assistant and reached room no 3, He was nervous and stood there for some time, He opened the door and went inside. Looked around and could see a woman standing nearby window and peeping outside. Yathish cleared his throat a bit loudly to grab her attention. The woman realized her customer was waiting and turned around to see him.

The earth shattered and she felt like the whole world has collapsed. Yathish stood there with eyes widened, He never imagined this and felt like he was broken into pieces. Tears rolled out from their eyes. Ganga and Yathish were facing each other and this was the bitter truth that Ganga was hiding from Keshav. He stormed out of the room and left the place without waiting for Keshav.
