Festival Time

Today we celebrated my first festival, Vat Savitri, post marriage. The experience was really good. We woke up early in the morning and after getting ready in Indian traditional style, we went to a temple to worship sacred Banyan tree. 

Although I like getting dressed up in Indian attire, today it was an enormous difficult task due to the high temperature. Also, the married ladies are not allowed to drink water even until the pooja is done. So, it added more to the misery. 

With full determination and faith, we successfully performed pooja and returned back. Certain rituals were performed at home and it took almost noon to finish everything. My mother had cooked delicious food which helped in quickly satisfying our hunger. It was a great day altogether.
