Envy

Brijmohan was a very efficient businessman. He had a small company that manufactured soft toys. His business was doing well and he made some handsome money.

Looking at his rapid growth, his neighbor Vijay thought of establishing the toy industry himself. Vijay had a furniture industry that was doing well, but still, profits in the toy industry to too good to resist. To make quick profits, he imported the toys from China and sold them in the Indian market.

Brijmohan had a stiff competition now. Brijmohan thought, "I produce good quality and safe toys, due to which the cost of manufacturing is higher. I cannot sell at a cheaper price as Vijay. But I will reduce my profit so that I can reach the larger masses".

Brijmohan reduced his profit margin from 25% to 5%. He even reduced the cost of advertisements. Even though he had less profit now, he continued with his toy industry.

Initially, Vijay has a very good profit, as his toys were cheaper. But due to inferior quality Chinese toys, he could not sustain the customer base.  

Brijmohan's toys were of decent quality and slightly costlier than Vijay's. People were willing to pay a slightly higher price for the good quality "Made In India" toys.

Vijay now got envy of Brijmohan, he thought, "Somehow I have to end his monopoly". 

He first tried to buy Brijmohan's industry. But when Brijmohan refused, Vijay went to the extreme.

Vijay contacted the local tantrik (black magician). On his instructions, he went to Brijmohan and threatened, "You refused to sell me your industry, I have applied some black magic on you. I will give you two more days to accept my proposal, else you will be responsible for the consequences."

Brijmohan ignored the warning and continued his job. One month passed and nothing happened to Brijmohan. Now, Brijmohan was relaxed, he even forgot about the warning.

 Meanwhile, Vijay's envy grew so much that he spent lakhs of rupees for black magic to cause evil to Brijmohan.

One day Brijmohan was traveling by his scooter, he fell and fractured his hand.

Vijay on hearing the news went to the tantrik. 

Tantrik smiled and said, "See I told you this Tantra will work. If you spend another ten lakhs we can do some advance occult practice, in the graveyard. This will cause further harm to him and end his monopoly ".

 "Don't worry about the money, but the damage should be done." Vijay left by saying this.

Brijmohan was now a bit scared. On thinking, some evil magic was done on him, he had sleepless nights. He consulted a retired professor, who was their family friend.

 

Professor heard his story patiently and said, " I know exactly how to break this black magic. You don't have to worry. You just go and do your regular work. Please give your workers a good bonus, so that they get more enthusiasm to work."

As said by professor Brijmohan got engrossed with his daily work. During Diwali, he gave a good bonus too.

On hearing the bonus news, Vijay got more envy he again spent lakhs of rupees on advanced occult practices. 

Months passed and Brijmohan was leading his normal life. When nothing seemed to work you Vijay got frustrated. He sold his business and home and left the town.

On hearing the news Professor came to Brijmohan's home. Brijmohan welcomed the professor and thanked him, "Because of you professor, I was away from the evil. I don't know, what happened to Vijay, maybe the black magic evil entities attacked him back. He left the town".

On hearing this, the professor laughed and said, "There is nothing called as black magic".

Brijmohan then asked, "Then, how did I meet with that accident?".

 "That was just a coincidence".

"But what about Vijay's condition then?"

"Vijay was wealthier than you. If he had continued his business he would have been much happier. But looking at your success he got jealous and started competing with you. So far it was good."

"Then, what went wrong in his case professor?", Brijmohan interrupted.

"Instead of improving himself and giving you a healthy competition, his envy took him to a different level. He went to black magicians. Tantriks will be waiting for these kinds of people. They extracted a lot of money from him."

Professor sipping a cup of tea further explained, "Coincidently when you met with accident, these thug Tantriks took that credit to extract more money from Vijay. When you give a bonus to your workers, Vijay thought you are doing well and invested more in evil practices."

Brijmohan listened to this curiously.

 "When I told you, I will take care of evil forces, you focused on your work and growth. On the other, instead of investing his time to improve himself, Vijay spends it to cause evil on you. When Vijay spent his time and energy somewhere else, it was obvious that he would occur the losses and this is what happened."

Brjamohan with a smile said, "Thanks for everything professor".

While the professor was leaving, he said, "Always look on the bright side of life. Work hard to become better, Envy leads you nowhere"
