Empty hands

He was elated to see the fruitful reward of his hard labour. The green blooming fields filled spark in his eyes and his heart danced with joy. Since a couple of months, he was working hard day and night in his fields.

This year he would be able to pay off all the debts.

But life had some other plans for him. A forceful storm took place last night which destroyed the crops completely and left him devastated burdening him with more loan.

Vigorously he scrubbed his hands in the soil as if searching something. He knew it was all over. With weary heart, he returned to his house not empty handed but hands full of wet mud.
