Dream Big And Achieve Them

Dream Big And Achieve Them

I would like to share my real-life experience.

One day, I went for an interview.

I was in the final round of the interview.

The final round was with the "Operations Head Manager." He started asking me questions about general knowledge, to which I gave the right answers.

Then he asked me, Where do I see myself in 5 years?

To which I replied that I would like to be a senior manager of the company, listening to which he said, "Are you kidding me? You can't be a senior manager within 5 years. You can only become a senior executive or just a team leader."

He stated that he has been with the company for 19 years and rose to the position of team leader in 17 years.

He said that you must be daydreaming; you can't achieve such a good position.

I said no, sir; I'm not daydreaming. I'm a hard-working person, and I'll try my best to be there.

He said that we should not have such big dreams in our lives.

I replied, sir, I'm not saying that I will be vice president of the company in 5 years. All I'm saying is that I would like to see myself as a senior manager in the next 5 years.

Then he asked me about my percentages in my 10th, 12th, graduation, and post-graduation. After listening to that, he said that you haven't achieved anything big, or you are not the kind of person who has achieved 100% marks; neither you are from IIM nor IIT.

I replied, sir, if educational qualification matters so much, then Mark Zukerberg might not have started Facebook, Ritesh Agarwal might not have started OYO,

Listening to me, he said, "What do you expect of them—that they should be sitting like you in front of me giving the interview?"

He also said that they had that spark in them.

I replied, sir, that the spark in them came when they wanted to change the world, when they wanted to do something good. That spark had not been there since their childhood. I also added that we came to know about them when they achieved their dream.

He said that you should be daydreaming if you are not getting it, but you should control your dreams; you should not aim high.

To which I said, "Sir, if I do not aim high, then I can't rise above. If I always keep looking down, then it won't motivate me; I can't move towards my goals; it will stop me from achieving my goals." Finally, I added, "I'm sorry, sir. With all due respect, I can't stop achieving my goals, and I can't stop myself from dreaming big and achieving them."

I'd like to tell you the same thing: dream big, achieve your dreams, and achieve your goals.

People can't do something for themselves, so they're going to tell you that you can't do it.

People will judge you by your education marks and by your achievements, but don't let those people make them right in their thoughts.

If you want to be somewhere, if you want to do something, go get it, pursue it, and keep pursuing it till you achieve it.

People will tell you to stop; people will demotivate you; but you don't have to stop.

If you don't agree with them, just say no to them, because your future depends on you, not on another person sitting in front of you taking your interview.

Don't give up; don't fall because of some people. You have to rise; you have to achieve for yourself; you have to achieve your dreams.
