Dark Secrets
Dark Secrets
I come from a middle-class family where my father is a private teacher, and my mother is a homemaker. He worked very hard for the sake of our family. I am the topper of the class, and I have no siblings. My wish is to serve the people, so I decided to pursue a career in medicine.
As soon as I completed my postgraduate studies, I got a job as a doctor in a private hospital, so I decided to continue with that job. Once I earned enough money, I planned to establish my own hospital, using all my savings.
I was filled with tears as I took the first step in my career. Later, my parents started looking for a suitable partner for me. They went through matrimonial services and consulted friends and relatives.
After some time, they found a guy on a matrimonial site and arranged a meeting for us. We met at a restaurant and introduced ourselves. "I am Nidhi, a doctor, and he is Madhav, a software engineer."
Initially, I had concerns about our different professions, but after talking to them, I realized he was the one for me. He is a very kind and calm person, and I felt very comfortable with him. He also felt the same, so we decided to move forward. I explained my goals, and he wholeheartedly accepted them.
After a few days, we got married, and things went very smoothly. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. As time passed, our little angel, Aadya, entered our lives, doubling our happiness. She is very cute and resembles my husband.
However, after some time, I noticed a change in my husband's behaviour. He was not treating me as he used to. I asked him multiple times if something was wrong, but he wouldn't answer properly.
After many attempts, he finally told me that he didn't consider me worthy of him because of my colour and appearance. He used to talk to me nicely sometimes but also verbally abused me.
I was left speechless by his behaviour, and it was very hard for me to accept. But for the sake of my baby girl, I left my job to take care of her.
However, he didn't provide any money for my basic needs and insisted that my role was limited to household chores and looking after the baby.
I realized that he had an inferiority complex. So I explained to him that a person cannot be judged solely based on their appearance. I made him realize that I was fulfilling all the responsibilities of a wife and mother.
It took him some time to agree with my words, but eventually, he acknowledged that his behaviour had been unfair and apologized.
I was happy about the change in his behaviour.
Now, I am a happy wife, a happy mother, and a happy doctor.
