City Of Destiny

I consider it a blessing to write a few lines about the place where I am born on this Veda Bhumi, India. I was born on Wed, Dec 14, 1977 in the Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. My mother was advised by the doctor to get admitted in the Government Victoria Hospital, Visakhapatnam in the morning hours of Dec 14, 1977. On the same day at 09:28 pm she gave birth to a baby boy with the blessings of Goddess Sri Kanaka Maha Lakshmi, whose temple still exists in the same area. The month of Margasira (November – December) is earmarked for the celebrations of the Goddess. Even today whenever I visit my hometown Visakhapatnam, I make it a point to visit the temple and seek her blessings. I have been witness to the way both the hospital and the temple have developed across the years. Today even after 42 years, I still cherish the memories of my growing in Visakhapatnam (City of Destiny). I can confidently say that the city has played a vital role in laying the much-needed foundation for me to evolve as an individual who ventured out on a mission to add immense value to the domain of education, inspiring young minds capable of taking the nation forward.
