Samira, A 11-year-old girl loves Diwali. Diwali symbolises the victory of light over Darkness, Good over Evil.

Samira's day starts by giving handmade Diwali cards to her family members and wishing her friends "Happy Diwali". Everyone knows that we can't celebrate Diwali without sweets. Samira's favourite sweet is laddu. She helps her mother make her favourite food and sweets for Diwali.

After helping her mother in the kitchen she tidies the house by dusting the furniture and cleaning all the rooms in her house.

Do you know Samira's favourite part of Diwali? Well of course it is making Colourful Rangoli with her mother. After cleaning the house, Samira and her mother sit outside to work on their Rangoli. Samira starts preparing for the Rangoli a fortnight prior to Diwali. She decides on the design and accordingly buys colours and adds her creativity.

In the evening her whole family sits together to worship goddess Lakshmi. After that the whole family goes outside and meet their friends, neighbours to wish them a Happy Diwali, exchange sweets and spend some quality time together. This time she did not burst any crackers as she wants a green Diwali for nature.

But for Samira, Diwali is not about making Rangolis and eating favourite sweets but for her, it is also to spend time with family members and get to know them better.
