Betrayal

Neha and Priya were very close friends. In fact, they worked as models in the same advertising agency and shared a flat. Consequently their friends circle was also the same. They were enjoying their lives.... working hard and going for vacations when they had some free time.

One afternoon, Priya had gone shopping. When she came back, she is surprised to see the door open. She slowly goes in and is shocked to see her friend lifeless on the bed. She struggles to contain her cries and immediately calls 100. The police advise her not to touch anything.

After sometime the police arrives and takes note of the situation. There are no signs of forced entry. There is a glass on their bedside table containing remains of coca cola.

The police gathers this glass as evidence. They question Priya about her whereabouts and what time she had come and how she had discovered the body. She answers them, crying bitterly all the time. She is trembling with shock at the turn of events

The police takes Neha's body into custody and sends it for post mortem. They question the neighbours about seeing anything suspicious. Everyone replies in negative. In fact, they were full of praise for the two girls.

The police, next went to the advertising agency to enquire about Neha. They were keen to find out if she had any enemies. There, also, they got glowing reports about both Neha and Priya.

The police were in a quandary as there was no one with motive to kill Neha.

Next day, they got the report from the Coroner that cause of death was poisoning confirmed both by the autopsy and the glass . The glass had only Neha's prints on it.

From primary evidence, the police declare it as suicide.

Neha's younger brother, Nishant, had also arrived that morning . He was studying in an Engineering college. They had lost their parents in a car crash four years back. Since then,they had grown even closer. They used to talk two three times a day. Nishant told the police he had talked to his sister earlier that day and in no way was she suicidal. In fact, she had been making plans to celebrate his birthday next week by having a big party with their friends and relatives.

Nishant begs the police Inspector to take a second look at the case. After much convincing, they agree to not shut the case and gather more evidence.

The police decide to collect footage from security cameras nearby.

While going through the footage, they are surprised to see Priya make not one but two trips back to the house within the time frame of Neha's death.

Priya is brought to the police station and interrogated. At first, she claims her innocence. After severe grilling with hard evidence of the CCTV footage and discrepancies in her statements ,she breaks down and confesses to murdering her own friend .

She had come to know from close sources that the advertising agency planned to elevate Neha to the head model status,at the same removing her (Priya) from their services. She could not bear this insult and killed her friend in a jealous rage.

Priya was sent to jail and Nishant was able to get justice for his sister.
