Awesome Threesome

One sunny morning three besties were busy studying for their exams in the school. One of the girls was Amanda, she had great leadership qualities. Then there was Louisiana who was intelligent and could solve all the puzzles given to her and last but not the least was Roxanne who was a genius at general knowledge.

On that particular day, Amanda saw something unbelievable, it was a treasure map which popped out from a magical book. It happened when Amanda was searching for a novel to read in the library, but instead landed with a magical book which had a very strange cover.

Her besties and she forgot about the studies and curiously started skimming the pages of the magical book. The pages had records of all treasures in the world. Louisiana noticed that this book could talk. They saw in the centre of the book, was a very detailed map of some place in the city. Excitedly Amanda asked aloud, "What map is this?." Suddenly to their shock and amazement the book answered,

"It is a map of the city.

A place that is truly pretty.

This will lead to a treasure with sparkling jewels and gold.

Do you want to find this treasure, are you truly that bold?"

The first thing that came to the girl's minds was their parents. They were hesitant to tell them about this exciting journey. Many ideas came to their minds, but one made most sense, that was to lie and make up a story about a school field trip. In the blink of an eye they informed their parents about the school field trip. Their parents agreed to let them go. Although the girls felt guilty about lying, they were very excited about the journey and the guilt quickly faded away. Then they packed a big bag and left the day after. They carried some extra things like a sleeping bag because there was nowhere to sleep in the deep forests and bushy gardens. They also carried a safety kit and the magical book for guidance.

Finally, they left and all of them were very excited but a little nervous at the same time. They were doing quite well, but by nightfall they entered a tree clad deep forest. They thought the book was leading them in the wrong direction, but the book announced,

"Prepare yourselves, now is the time where you will be tested, I hope you have amply rested. If you are able to solve the mysteries that lie ahead, you will be led to the treasure that was said."

At this point, they were a little anxious. But went on nevertheless. Amanda spotted sharp thorns that lay ahead. Roxanne was smart enough to repurpose the extra sleeping bags they had carried for double protection as cushions to get through the thorny area. Soon after facing the sharp thorns they came across a gushing stream. No one knew what to do except Louisiana.

She removed an enormous float from her backpack and let the stream lead them in the same direction as the map showed. Then came the most astonishing part, where they had to solve loads of puzzles. Thankfully, Louisiana was good at decoding puzzles and led them to victory by solving all the mind boggling puzzles, all under an hour. Just after solving the mind boggling puzzles they saw something shine as bright as a mirage. They all sighed looking at the beautiful sight, as they went closer they realized it was an open ground where lay in the centre, the key to the magical chest. The book suddenly spoke,

"This is your last obstacle, but beware you are going to have to face your deepest and darkest fears. Bid your goodbyes, say adios to your dears."

Amanda was about to quit, because her fear was being left alone. Her friends encouraged her to keep searching, until they reached their destination and not give up. At first she was unsure but eventually they convinced her and she was ready to face her fears. Then came an incident where the book showed that they were all going to split up to find the treasure. Amanda took the book with her and the book gave Amanda strength to face her fears. Now came Roxanne's turn to face her fears, which were snakes. Roxanne kept walking ahead until she saw a bed of snakes. Since she was good at general knowledge, she stayed still until the moment came where one snake saw her. She was about to run, but stayed still.

The snake's deep black, venomous eyes confused her still posture for a tree because she stood silently, hardly breathing just like a statue. She overcame this scary, mind-numbing obstacle. Then was Louisiana's turn to face her fear, which was to not be organised and out of control. Louisiana had obsessive compulsive disorder! Nothing made her uncomfortable, like being disorganised. So, all thee friends got back together to talk about how they overcame their fears. It was a momentous occasion for them all. While walking ahead, Louisiana's bag got heavier and heavier until she couldn't stand it. Louisiana had no choice but to leave behind her organised bag, and move on with an incomplete kit of supplies. She was miserable, but was ready to move on. Now that they all faced their fears, they were sure they would find the treasure soon.

The book finally spoke, "500 steps north, 300 steps west, 200 steps south, 100 steps east, if you don't make it on time you may become the lion's feast."

It was quite simple for Roxanne to solve this riddle. The two friends followed her lead. The moment they reached, they saw some carved wood with a sign saying, "TREASURE". Louisiana took the shovel she carried in her hand and started digging a big hole with the help of her friends. Finally, after digging for over 30 minutes they found more than 1000 pounds of hidden treasure. They wondered how they would be able to carry this back home?

Witty Roxanne came to the rescue again. She asked them to start filling the huge spare gunny bag with the treasure. It weighed 1000 pounds. Amanda was quick to fill out some helium balloons with a pump that she carried and attached them to the gunny bag. The bag floated in the air and the girls literally walked it back home.

They followed their foot trail on the way back home and reached back slightly delayed because the exhaustion of the exhilarating journey made them fall asleep on the way back. When Amanda, Roxanne and Louisiana reached home, their parents were shocked because the girls had lied to them. They were grounded for 2 full weeks. Their parents took the treasure and the girls to the city police and showed the police the treasure. The police informed the families, that this was a 100-year-old treasure stolen by the pirates. The awesome threesome became famous heroes. They were awarded handsomely and the girls were ecstatic. However, they donated some part of their treasure to the city for the betterment of the infrastructure. The awesome threesome were happy to help.
