An E-mail That Transformed A Life
An E-mail That Transformed A Life
My brother was working very hard to bring in a major career change, that we all under stood very well. But how much hard work did he put in, only an email from Top US university offering admission based on his excellent grades could make us realize..
My brother, by then a father of three year old boy and expecting his second child, dared to dream big and worked with all passion, dedication and determination to accomplish the dream. Finally, the result of his hard work came in the form of an Email offering him admission in the UCLA Business School. By the way, Email was not easily accessible those days and personal computers were a rarity, in India.
It appears like with the receipt of E-mail it was a happy ending of the story, but the whole story begins now. The arrangement for the fees, loans to be obtained , It can be a nightmare for a middle class person. With lot of running around for resources to fund his dream, he finally boarded a flight to LA. So, as we all can see the e-mail only opened the doors to the unlimited possibilities for him. It was he who was the Brahma giving shape to his dreams and saw that they materialized.
After he landed on the US soil, it was not easier either. He had to focus on his studies so much so that he left no opportunity unturned to get scholarships and funding to ease out his finances, with the worries and thoughts of his family back home. Finally, he completed his graduation and became an entrepreneur having set up a small business that to our delight, grew up big beyond our imagination, within no time.
The moral of the story is that an Email has the capacity to change a life but the recipient has to have the guts and tenacity to take all that goes behind in the background . Fortunately, It was not a lottery or a windfall but an opportunity for higher education, that had transformed his life totally. He made our Parents and us, his siblings proud, His success has an impact not only, on us, his immediate family, in many ways, but also on our extended family and his friends . Yes, an email changed the life of more than one person and that too beyond wildest imagination!
