All He Ever Wanted
All He Ever Wanted
It wasn’t like Aaina wanted to get into this marriage.
Or any, for that matter. She had always loved her single life and even envisioned a future in which she would stay with her parents, taking care of them forever.
But then, one day, her life changed when, during a marriage meeting, Mohan came to see her never gave her an excuse to reject him. When the meeting was arranged, she assured herself she was going to pick some small detail and use that to reject every man she met. And yet, here was the man who never gave her a single such thing!
A thought did cross her mind–that he might have been meant for her.
‘Nah, not the wildest chance,’ she thought, as she watched him with his phone in his hands, lying parallel to her on the double bed they shared. Well, it wasn’t one bed, but two single ones put together. She didn't realise what problem it would pose in just a few hours.
She took up her own phone and began to check up on her messages and social media notifications. She was quite aware of the person beside her, but less so of the reason why they were there alone in that room together: Honeymoon. Or something resembling it, since it was just for three days.
Time passed and Aaina eventually decided to go to sleep again. Not because she was bored, but she was tired. Too tired from the many events she had to perform to satisfy her in-laws and her own “religious” relatives.
She didn’t realise how much she had been sleeping and how it was affecting Mohan. In fact, his face looked impassive.
But inside, unbeknownst to her, he was boiling. A kind of frustration started taking over his mind – looking at her, lying so sexy, right beside him… he wanted to touch her, kiss her, bite her fleshiest parts… but he didn’t have her permission. It seemed, she refused to give it to him.
As he watched her sleep, the blood in his veins boiled. She hasn’t been clear with him – never been clear with him. Always giving him vague answers that he assumed meant what generally girls her age meant.
‘I’ll shake her awake,’ he thought, ‘and ask her what her problem is. Why is always sleeping?!
‘Oh but, but… what if she slaps in the face? All I want is just one thing… one thing…’
When she finally awoke, he decided to just throw all the doubts under the bus and approached her:
“Can I just kiss you?” he asked her.
Thoughts of their intimacy had been running through her mind all these days. Like it or not, he would be the first and probably the only person she would ever have sex with, if they ever came to that stage.
“Anywhere except the mouth,” was her answer.<

It’s all he ever wanted – to kiss her. It didn’t matter if it wasn’t on the mouth _ though he badly wanted that – but he had his tricks. He positioned himself in front of her, hoping against hope that she would be impressed.
She neither wanted to be impressed nor enjoy the experience. Not that she really didn’t want the intimacy, but she couldn’t imagine how she would like it. She had read and watched about sex, but she didn’t feel anything but slight tingle.
The moment his lips touched her cheek, something came over her. The force of it was not yet enough to be a mention, but she was definitely experiencing a joy so strong, she had never felt before.
All of a sudden, his lips were everywhere and they ignited sparks of fire all across her body, from over her clothes. She wanted to undress, get naked, experience the immense delight of it all on a more personal, intimate level, but she knew, the moment she did so, she would regret it. She wanted to take it slow, she had always told him that. Her instincts warned her to take it slow. After all, she didn’t even know him, apart from the superficial aspects that he would have shown her.
Suddenly, he said, “I love you.”
She was stunned; not because he said it, but because he said it much sooner than she had expected. She remained silent, smiled.
“Don’t you love me?”
She felt bad, but she couldn’t begin this relationship with a lie. “I don’t you know yet whether I do. I don’t know if I will love you.” Deep down, her sixth sense was telling her she needed to make sure they were really compatible and that the relationship would not get spoilt. Once she said she loved him, there would be no turning back, no regrets.
But what if there would be? She would hate herself for getting her hopes as well as his very high.
So, she didn’t say it back.
“You know what, that’s okay,” he told her. “Even if you don’t love me, I will always love you. I will always want you. I don’t care.”
It touched her very much, her smile widened. ‘Is this a dream or is this for real? Is there really somebody who wants me, after all?’
Thus was the fateful day that changed her life forever.
Ever since that day, getting intimate was like an addiction – something that had to be done for Aaina to live. She realised she couldn’t live without his touch for very long.
A week after that fateful day, when Mohan was once more intimate with Aaina, the change that overcame his life finally hit a full circle:
“I love you,” he said, something that became a usual thing now.
She smiled, just as happily as she always did. “I love you, too.”
