Across the border

"I was waiting on the Arunachal frontier highway in a repaired bike to reach the Dibang valley as I was a rider, "Arun recalled his experience.

Through some bikers on the way, he got help, and his bike turned back to normal. He thanked them and got ready to start his journey. Arun managed to reach the Dibang valley and enjoyed its beauty of nature. But tragedy had happened there. The India-China border across the Dibang valley had been attacked by several forces of China and India.

Arun managed to save himself from the attack as the military instructed them to go to the safe place. As per the order, the civilians were taken to the safe place, and the military forces were in attack with the opposition. A major thing happened as Arun's brother serving as a military man on the border of India and China had been seen by Arun, and he, in exclamation, was about to talk to him, but he refused as his brother was busy with the emergency attack.

Arun remembered the days where he and his brother were served in the National Cadet Corps in their college days. His brother Ram Kumar was a very good cadet and an excellent shooter in their cadet. He had been trained by the seniors of his college and also by the higher officials because of his excellent performance. Arun recollected that his brother was the excellent shooter in their college cadet corps, and he had been appointed as the super senior member to guide the fellow cadets.

Arun was a naughty boy where he used to bunk cadet sessions and the training and march past sessions. As he was his brother, Ram managed to give advice to him and also gave punishment to his younger brother for not doing his duty as a cadet. Arun had not written the cadet exams, so he was fired from the NCC. Meanwhile, Ram managed to get into the Indian military by qualifying in all the aspects.

After a few years, Ram managed to get a senior position in the military and transferred to the India-China border to serve his duty. Arun was working for a multinational company on the other side with a better salary package. But the major thing is that both the brothers have not been talking due to their ego issues. On a particular day, Ram visited his house, surprisingly saying that he had given leave for a week. On the other hand, Arun was so happy to see his brother, but he had not expressed his feelings.

On the same week, Arun got admitted to the hospital as he already had health issues since he was a child, and his problem was somehow severe at that time. Ram managed to console his mother on Arun's condition, and after some days, Arun managed to get a normal condition after a surgery. The doctor insisted on some instructions. As Ram had taken some leave, he had been leaving on that same day, saying goodbye to his family. He hugged his brother and told him to take good care of his health.

Arun managed to get some medical leave from his company, and after his due course of treatment, he asked his mother to leave him for a long ride. His mother was on a thought first, but later she agreed upon it. Their house was in the city of Agra, and he started his journey to Arunachal Pradesh with his favorite bike. After a series of recollected events, Arun was back to his present state. The armed forces were fighting heavily, and the news has been taken to the international level, and the Prime Minister insisted the forces make a peace and also made a peace contract with the opposition country's PM.

While everything was returning to normal, Arun managed to get himself free, and he decided to meet and talk to his beloved and heroic brother. At the time, a huge bomb blast had occurred in the India-China border, and the armed forces again started to fight with the opposition country. Both countries were on the urge to declare war, but it was stopped by the UNO, and a peace contract has been made between the countries to talk later about their border issue. Many people on the military side of India died, and Ram was also one of them.

After hearing the news, Arun saddened and cried loudly. His brother's body has been found, and Arun took responsibility as he was his brother, and he said not to give his brother's dead body to his house as his mother would not tolerate the pain and insisted the forces place his brother's grave somewhere with a great respect of honor on his ritual. After a series of events, Arun's family has got some money and a government job offer to Arun, but Arun refused. As Arun dreamt to become a fighter pilot in his childhood, but due to his health issues, he had left out the dream.

He wrote AFCAT exams, and through clearing several exams he has been into the training session, and in his training session he used to remember his NCC training, where his brother used to give him training and he used to bunk classes and get punishment. Tears fall in his eyes. He remembered his brother's words in every session of his training and managed to clear the training. He was waitlisted on his recent health issues, but later he got selected for the Indian Air Force, where a breeze of air touched his soul, where he understood that his brother's soul was communicating with him for his success, where the story ends.
