  • Chapter 1: Trip to Goa •

It all began at my home, in Pune. My friends Sara and Divya had come to my house to celebrate my marks. I was the topper of graduation, and we had promised that whoever gets the highest of all throws a party. And for this reason my friends had come to plan about the party. I was thinking about it but Divya interrupted my thoughts and said "It's all so busy out here.... I just want to relax on a beach." I nodded, Divya was right all these honking cars, the pollution filled air and no time for ourselves is indeed unfair. "Hey! Then why not celebrate your marks with a trip?" suggested Sara. Sara's idea was valid but will our parents allow? "Great idea Sara, but we need permission from our parents too." I replied. "Well, at least we can plan about it. Then we'll ask for permission and if they deny we'll think of another plan." recommended Divya. "Fine! I'm in." I said. "Let's go to a swamp green and tropical forest. It'll be a great time." said Sara. "But we agreed on beaches, Sara!" replied Divya in a high pitch. (These girls will never stop fighting) "C’mon, stop fighting like small kids. We can find a destination where a beach and forest is located close together. “I said thinking that this can help in resolving their fight. Sara and Divya stared each other but ultimately agreed with my opinion. "Let's find a place in Goa. Beaches are famous there and many forests exist too." Said Divya. I picked up my phone and typed 'Goa Travel Guide' in the search box. As I scrolled down I found a perfect place."Hey, see this. This is exactly what we want. Its name is Canacona. It’s located in the southern part of Goa. We can go to Palolem beach and then to the Goa Jungle Adventure. “I told Divya and Sara. “Oh... That's great! Then let's make this final." said Sara. Divya agreed too. "Great then.... But first let's ask our parents. “I said. “Okay, go ahead!" replied Sarah. I told Divya and Sara to wait as I went in the bedroom to ask for permission. "Hi mom and dad. As you know that we are going to conduct a party, so we are thinking that why not take a break from this stress and relax on a beach. And we are thinking to visit Canacona. I came to ask for permission. “I said. “Mm... Nice Idea. You can take a break but promise that you'll stay in contact and do remember to ask Divya and Sara's parents too." said Dad. "Thank you so much...." I said and went out. Without making any delay I called Sara and Diva’s parents and they also said what mom and dad had said a minute back. I giggled a bit and thought that all the parents think the same! I told Divya and Sara that we were allowed. I picked my phone and saw if there were tickets available. And luckily there were 3 tickets left for tomorrow. "Be ready with your stuff tomorrow. We'll go to the bus stop together “I told Divya and Sara. It was getting late so Divya and Sara left for their houses. That night I was too excited that I couldn't sleep.

 • Chapter 2: Destination Reached! •

The sun shined brightly and the birds chirped as they flew. Finally it was morning and today we were going to Goethe last night I had already booked a room for three people in the Palolem beach resort. Google said that it is a hotel with landscaped gardens and palm trees and it also provides free breakfast and Wife. I had packed my backpack with all the essentials. Mom had given me a camera in case we saw any rare birds in the forest. I was all ready to explore Goa when my phone rang. I held my backpack in one hand and picked the phone, it was Diva’s call. I picked up the call. "Hey Riau, I and Sara are ready. Are you done?" asked Divya. "Hey! I'm ready. I was just coming." I replied. "Okay, we're waiting” said Divya. I ended the call and came out of my room. I hugged mom and dad and waved them a bye as I stepped out of the house. I reached Divya’s house, Sara was already there so we began our journey to the bus stop. After some time we were at the bus stop. We boarded the bus, Sara sat on the window seat. I was beside her and Divya beside me. We were going through the Amboli Ghat route. Some of the hilly roads were a bit patchy. The route was scenic and there were plenty of places to stop along the way. I wondered if travelling was too fun how awesome will be the exploring. After 8 to 10 hours we were in Goa! Our bus stopped on Amboli Ghat bus stop. We exited the bus with our backpacks. To reach Canacona from here we had to travel 3 hours and 36 minutes more. We were too excited that we took just a small break and continued our journey. This time we didn't take the bus instead we took a cab. Because via bus it was taking quite a long time. After traveling for some more hours we were finally in Canacona! Palolem was just 18 minutes away from us now so we took a stop to have some water and then continued our journey to Palolem beach in the same cab. We had reached Palolem. I called mom and dad to tell that we have reached Goa. Divya and Sara called their parents too. It had turned too dark so we went in resort to rest. The next morning we enjoyed the sun rise at the beach. The water there wasn't too deep which made it safe for average swimmers and Divya was one of them. We stepped on to the white stretch of sand and were adapting to our surroundings. The shoreline was dotted with wooden bungalows and restaurants. The beach was pristine and far cleaner than other shorelines I had seen. We had just come and from right now it felt that this was the best decision we ever made to get over the stress with a break in this paradisiacal place. "Wow! This beach is more beautiful than I had imagined. “Said Sara as she tried to make a sand castle. I and Divya agreed with her. Sara was finding it too hard to make the castle so she left it as a lump of sand. I helped Sara get up and said "C'mon we've come here to enjoy the soothing waves not making sand castles." Sara nodded. "Come on Divya lets splash in the water." I said. Divya got up and we headed towards the water. Divya sat in the shallow part whereas I and Sara enjoyed swimming in the deeper part. We tried to call Divya in but she didn't. So we splashed water from there itself. After enjoying in the water we came out. We wrote our names with our fingers on the sand then we laid down beside them and took a selfie. Divya had collected many sea shells and she wanted to show them to her younger sister so she kept them in her bag. We relaxed in the sun for a while as we heard the gushing sound of the waves. We enjoyed the scenic beauty of the setting sun. We did a little shopping at some shops. We buyed some paperweights, keychaines and a gift for our parents. After all this we headed towards the Palolem Beach Resort. Our room was facing the sea and we enjoyed an awesome view of the beach. The experience at the beach was awesome and now we were eagerly waiting for the Goa Jungle Adventure!

• Chapter 3: Lost and.....•

I was the first one to wake up the next morning. From our room's window I could clearly see the waves rushing towards the shore. And as always the beach attracted many travellers. Some stepped out of the wooden bungalows to take a stroll around while kids ran around playing and laughing. I opened the window which allowed the fresh air to enter in. Sara and Divya were still sleeping. Sara felt the air and pulled her blanket higher. I went to the bathroom to brush and bath. After some time I woke Sara and Divya up. They both rubbed their eyes as they woke up. I told them to bath quickly and get ready. After we all were ready we headed towards the cafe. First we ordered a cup of coffee and then ordered poha. There were many dishes that we had never heard of so we preferred simple poha. Goa Jungle Adventure was just 9 minutes away from us if we go via car. So we booked a cab and decided to explore the jungles! While we were in the cab I searched a little more about Goa jungle Adventure. I told Sara and Divya “I thought to search about Goa Jungle Adventure, and as per my research it says that Goa jungle Adventure organizes cannoning tours in the jungle of Goa for both beginners and experts. It basically includes trekking, abseiling, cliff jumping and swimming." Divya looked at me as she heard swimming. "I won't be able to do that, Ria" she said. "Don't worry it's not written that you need to be perfect." I said. "I know..... But still. “She said in a low voice. “Don’t worry we're with you!" said Sara. After some travelling we were finally in Goa Jungle Adventure. Everyone was allotted a private guide who could show them the place. Full-day tour to a jungle camp in Goa with a private guide. Our guide explained us what all we are going to explore. He said "We'll take a dip in the Dudhsagar waterfall , Soar above the jungle on a zip line, learn about medicinal forest plants during jungle walk , Visit the 12th-century Tambdi Surla Mahadev Temple and savor a tasty lunch of traditional Goan fare accompanied by a cooking demonstration." We nodded our heads as we listened to him. He was rarely taking us to explore and just speaking. He continued "Cannoning is a sport that mixes adrenaline and natural beauty in equal measure. Trekking through gorges, waterfalls and giant rock pools, cannoning lets you get waist deep in nature and today we'll experience it in a brand new way....." Divya took me aside and said “Let’s explore it all on our own, it doesn't seem he will show us anything!" I nodded but maybe exploring a jungle on our own is risky. "But Divya we are new to this place and it can be dangerous." I said. "But Divya is right, if we don't explore on our own we'll lose this chance." said Sara. I couldn't stand against two, so I said, “Fine... I'm in." Divya and Sara clapped. We somehow distracted the guide and headed towards the swamp forest. Sara led us, I was behind her and Divya behind me. The trees were too leafy that they allowed very little sunlight to enter. Which made the forest dark and damp. I clicked some photographs of the forest with the camera. We could hear birds flying but couldn't see them clearly. We kept walking thinking that we'll discover a waterfall soon. But we were wrong, it felt that we had made a mistake by not listening to the guide's instructions. It was 15 minutes now and we were just walking. I saw behind and then in front, I couldn't see anything or anyone except an endless path. "Maybe we are on the wrong route, friends” I said. No one replied. I saw everywhere but I couldn't spot Sara and Divya anywhere. I sat down on my knees, crying and thinking that I was lost!

 •Chapter 4: ...Found! •

Tears rolled down my eyes as I sat on the ground. It was getting late and the forest was becoming darker. I had already called out the names of Divya and Sara with the hope that they hear me. My throat became dry, and there was no waterfall that I could spot. The bottle that I carried with me was already over, I just had a packet of chips left with my phone. I tried calling mom and dad too but there was no signal available. I had lost hope and wondered that the only thing I can do is walk, until I find a person who can help me. I wished we had stayed with our guide. Finally I got up and began walking again as I wiped my tears away. I wondered what Divya and Sara would be doing. And if they knew that I'm lost. (At Divya and Sara's place) "See, it's the forest officer there, let's tell him that Ria’s lost." said Sara pointing with her finger. Divya nodded. Sara and Divya went to the officer and told him the entire thing. The officer nodded and told them to follow. (At Ria’s place) The forest still had a side I hadn't seen, they were animals. As it became darker the hooting sounds of owls, howling noises and swaying trees started making creeps sounds. I took God's name and kept walking and walking. I switched on my phone's flashlight and moved forward. Finally I could see a light, it came nearer and nearer. And as it came in front of me I realized they were the headlights of a jeep. To my surprise Divya and Sara were sitting in. It was the forest officer. I thanked god and sat beside Divya. I was relieved, I asked Divya, "Where were you?" Divya replied "That's what I must ask, where were you?" I hung my head down and replied, "Well, I don't know. A...Actually I was lost." Divya said "We know that, actually we saw officer and told that we couldn't find you. He helped us all the way till here." My mouth flung open, I thanked Divya and Sara. We thanked the officer and left for the resort. As we lay on the bed Sara turned to me and said with a naughty smile on her face, “What animals did you spot, you enjoyed?" I gave her a push with my elbow, they'll get to know what happened only if they were there. That experience was indeed unforgettable!

Chapter 5: Plan B •

Our trip was over faster than we had planned, 2 days had passed but we had another day. I didn't want to go back home now as Goa was too good. We still had the chance to explore Goa even more precisely. As soon as I was ready I picked my phone to see if there is any place that will excite me and my friends. As I scrolled down the places I found one that I never thought existed. It was “The Mystery Rooms”. I called out Divya and Sara to tell them about the place. "Mystery Rooms is a type of physical and intellectual adventure in which you and your group of friends are locked in a themed room and have to solve a series of puzzles, find clues to escape within a set time limit." I read out from my phone. Sara and Divya listened keenly which made me sure that they were interested. "But how far away is it from us. If it's too far we'll waste our time in traveling. “Said Sara. “Don’t worry, it's 2 hours and 27 minutes away from us." I replied. "Then what are we waiting for, let's go!" said Divya. I nodded my head and said, “Sure, but first we need to do the bookings!" Sara and Divya went away ignoring what I said and as usual I had to book again! "C'mon we can leave" I said as I called out Sara and Divya. After traveling for 2 hours in the cab we had finally reached The Mystery Rooms, we had chosen ‘Lockout — A Prison Break Challenge’. As per my search beginners prefer this one and it is considered easy so we took this. . There were other missions available too. They were the ‘Abduction’, ‘Cabin in the Woods’ and ‘The Hurt Locker’. On this mission, we had to plan a daring jail escape within just an hour. Our journey was peppered with secret clues, tricky locks and a lifeline because we were confused. We were also given costumes relevant to the game to set our mood just right. We enjoyed solving riddles and escaping out of prison. I believe whatever mission we chose in each one you’ll surely have to apply all your intelligence and thinking-on-your-feet skills to complete it. Time flew by and we didn't realize that our time to enjoy was over. We came out in our costumes and clicked some selfie and without delay I messaged them to mom and dad. "What a great experience! I wish we could play a little more." said Sara. I and Divya agreed with her. We changed our clothes and left for the resort. "I would love to try more like these at Pune." said Divya. "Me too" I replied. We reached the resort by afternoon and had a satisfying meal. We took a nap after that and played a match of ludo. It was our last day at Goa so we took a stroll on the beach in the evening as waves touched our feet. We enjoyed the setting sun that painted the sky orange. We stayed on the beach until it turned dark and then went in the resort to sleep and have good dreams.

• Chapter 6: Goodbye Goa! •

It was our last day in Goa, and we wished we could stay here for some more time. We packed up our stuff and buyed some snacks for our travel. Before going to the bus stop we enjoyed the sunrise and strolled on the cool, white stretch of sand. Finally, it was time to wave a goodbye to Goa. We left the resort and reached the Amboli Ghat Bus stop. We had left early in the morning precisely 6:00 am. We had to travel 10 hours to reach Pune back. Though we were leaving Goa, we were carrying lots of memories along with us. I looked back from the window, to glance a last time. We enjoyed the traveling with snacks and mobile games. "Our time in Goa was indeed unforgettable.” said Sara. I and Divya nodded. After the bus journey was completed each of us took a cab to our houses. I rang the doorbell, mom opened the door. I hugged mom as I was delighted to see her after 3 days. Mom hugged me back. I went in and hugged dad too. "I've got a lot of gifts for you mom and dad, let's see them in the bedroom.” I said. Mom and dad exchanged looks of surprise. I opened my backpack and removed a small packaged box. I opened it and said, "This paperweight from me, so that Dad's papers don't fly around. This keychain for you mom so that you can identify your keys immediately." Mom took the keychain and said,"Aww.... This sea shell with a face in my keychain is so cute... Thank You Ria" I smiled on mom's reply. "And thank you for the paperweights too, I'll take care that my papers don't fly away!" said Dad as he laughed. I and mom giggled a bit. I showed mom and dad the selfie we had taken during our journey. "Oh... But there is no picture of you in the forest. “Asked mom. I didn't want to remember the terrifying experience when I got lost so I replied, "Well, I ac... actually got separated from my friends.” "What! That means you got lost! Oh god, you didn't think to tell us about that." said mom with worry in her voice. "No mom, it isn't so. I tried to contact you but you know that there is very less range in the forest “I replied. “OH... “Reacted mom. I explained mom the entire experience after which she nodded and said, “A terrific experience, huh?". "Right..." I replied. Though I didn't expect that I'll get lost, but still the experience was truly awesome, wonderful and fantabulous. I wish we go on another such trip soon!
