Your Name

Your Name

so many nights,

i have slept,

taking your name.

tip of my tongue dry,

seeking water,

and I, seeking you,

no desires fulfilled.

tell me,

why did you come back?

after leaving,

did you think

i wasn't broken enough?

and must be battered,

brought down to knees,

begging, pleading, crying,

while you could walk away,

saying it would do me good.

what do I tell me heart?

that still believes,

only you'll do her good.
