You And I

Maa - more than a word, it's a feeling, a relation which never dies,

A relation which never let me apart,

A relation which always stands by me,

Whatever the calamity may be,

Is the relationship between mother YOU and I.

Now after being a mother myself,

I can understand how much pain that time you had to bear.

But in my blurred memories, 

You never gave out a yelling tear.

For to breed a child, it takes a lot of girth,

In spite of knowing this, I can sense how anxious you must be for my birth.

I still remember that in all these years, 

To my every little problem, 

How patiently and lovingly you used to give ears.

Oh Maa, I still relish the taste of stupendous food made by you.

And it made me realise that the best spices in the world are 'love and care'.

Now I am grown up, 

You know Maa, one thing has amazed me so much through the years

And that is in this 'sane world' 

How you could inculcate so much of positivity, values, and sermons in me.

As today I got to know that all your kindness, patience, teachings, and practical wisdom is the actual guiding force in my life.

Even today, sometimes when I feel blue,

All I want is to take a look at you.

Then all my sorrows vanish like a miracle,

And once again my ambitions sore to the pinnacle.

My angel, I know that now you too are grown up with silver in your hairs and 'gold' in your heart,

But please be my side in the next birth again.

I, 'the rose of your garden' which you tender with your sweat, 

Promise you that one day will spread its fragrance and cheer the people around the world.

Dear mother, you know that I don't lie,

For that is the essence of the relationship between 'YOU and I'.
