Yesterday, as I see today
Yesterday, as I see today
Yesterday, as I see today
Blossoms across the pathway..
Swaying rivers, winter shivers,
Rainbows glowing by the bay
For all that’s now yesterday
Someone’s got to pay today…
Bridges that don’t mend broken friendships
Buildings that don’t inhabit love
Robots that are here to stay
Evince that we have come a long way
But the power we had yesterday
That won’t return come what may..
For all the lost things of yesterday
Someone’s got to pay today…
The day has come now, as I see
No air to breathe, no sign of relief
No water to quench our thirst today
The bubble is soon to burst away
Today is nothing like
yesterday
And someone’s paying everyday
Nature is fighting for its rights
To stay the same as yesterday
For the stars that shone
And the birds that crooned
For what we have lost
From the night And day
Someone’s paying everyday
For better days ahead of today
Let the birds build their nests again
And the lakes make their own way
Coz it’s never too late to say
Bring me back my yesterday.
May we change And mend our way
For our yesterday will be here again
Blessing us with a brighter today
But let’s not forget this day
For what we’ve made out of yesterday
Someone had to pay today…
