Year-end

It struck a chord

Up and there

I am, at my port

 

Pen scribbled

Mind dribbled

But the ball just slipped

And left me troubled

 

Just what so exciting

What so depressing

Just what did brew

That left papers were strewn

 

My mind, I find

In a tussle

To work up

A muscle

 

And express

All Emotion

 

It's there

A part of me knows

It's a lie that I've forgotten

All friends, love, and foes

 

Just for a brief minute

My mind opened

Eyes trained

And I remember all

As clear as day

 

They affect me

I love them

They hurt me

I cherish them

 

It's they who turned me right

It's they who made me bright

It's they whom I pay respect

It's they who taught me to fight

 

I feel emotions

Are they right or wrong?

A smile grazes my face

Saying "you are strong, true as you are"

 

The pens nipped on

The story is settled now

The storm has passed

There's calm now

 

This year so eventful

It's winter than summer again

Let's meet up on the other side

Up to go, with a smile again!
