Why Do You Love Me?

In all my days of being with you together,

I've always heard these words,

Whenever and wherever,

That I love you so much

Forever and ever..

But in my faintest memory,

I don't remember anybody,

Asking their lover in anticipation

Why? Oh, Why do you love me?

What is the answer to this?

Should I say it is your kiss,

Or the feeling of sheer bliss,

When you are around me,

That I don't feel emptiness.

What is the answer to this ?

It is your breath on my brow when you kiss me,

on my forehead whenever you miss me,

It is because you care so much,

That my darkest fears run away with your touch.

What is the answer to this?

It is the warmth

In your hug,

That I always feel safe in,

I believe no harm can tug.

What is the answer to this?

It is the way you look at me,

That I feel safe and secure for eternity,

I love you because of all this and much more,

Nothing of which I had ever felt before.
