Why can't I?

Why can't I?

Suppressing many thoughts in my mind

I'm just living for someone else's smile,

Suppressing many desires in my heart

I'm just living to fulfil someone else's desires.

Why can't I question if I don't understand

A thing,

Is it because, I'm a wife?

Why can't I laugh loud,

Is it because, I'm a daughter-in-law?

Why can't I dream about my children's future,

Is it because, I'm a woman?

Why can't I choose whom I can talk to,

Is it because, I'm a girl?

Why can't I live my life as I wish,

Is it because, for a so-called society?

Why can't I argue against something fishy,

Is it because, that you think I don't have right to speak?

Why can't I take decisions on my own,

Is it because, you think I'm an emotional idiot?

Why can't I open up my thoughts,

Is it because, you think I'm useless?
